Correct. I wasn't sure how to view the value as at the end of December, rather than the present day value.

Are you using trustnet to monitor the value of your £100000 portfolio?

chrisgg From your monthly growth rates, I’m assuming the growth occurs on the previous months total I get bottom lines of
    Nov £105638_____5.6%
    Dec £107222_____7.2%
    Does that sound right?

Yeah sounds about right. Trust net current value is £108,650 which makes sense with market movements in the last week.

Great if you let us know what it’s worth on the last trading day of the month we are in business.

As of end of January my total fund value is £109,333.

Interesting month with the dollar dropping so quickly against the pound. My portfolio is 55% US equities so quite a hit there. Good performance from the US stock market balanced that out. Legg Mason Japan did the best (as usual) up 3.5%. Jupiter India the worst down 5.5%.

I made a small rebalance at the start of the month - £3K from my tech fund into Fundsmith. This is my most typical rebalance as the tech sector continues to out perform pretty much everything else. I am using YouInvest model portfolio to keep track as it allows this type of change to be made, whereas I don't think Trustnet does. I will need to keep an eye on Japan next as I am currently at 12% and my original plan was about 10%.

A month of two halves. First half was excellent showing good growth. Then most of it was clawed back in the second half. I havent worked out why, possibly the rise in the £ against the $ though I am underweight in US.

    Growth Portfolio
Sold off another minor holding - AXA Framlington Health. Money transferred to Income portfolio. Totals for this report readjusted to remove the reduction in size.

    Linton Growth:£107708

Still well ahead of VLS100 at 104903.

    Wealth Preservation Portfolio
The Wealth Preservation ITs suffered in the second half of the month - RIT in particular falling by about 5% after a 2% rise in the first 2 weeks. Significant volatility for a WP fund.

Are these returns in USD? USD has sold off so for comparison to others your performance would not be as strong as you have stated IF your returns are in USD.
