Another NSD yesterday, feeling very pleased with myself!
I really fancied something sweet, so I made rock cakes. However, I swapped the egg for applesauce and didn't think about the extra liquid that would create. Consequently they spread across the baking sheet so I ended up with rock cake cookies, but they still tasted great.
Spent the day pottering around, cleaning, clearing etc so got quite a lot done but at a leisurely pace. Today I am going to play with my grandchildrenDebt 04/11/22 - £0.00

I went up to the allotment early yesterday morning, suits me because then I don’t have to spend time with pleasant chit chat! I picked runner beans (now sliced and frozen), a courgette, carrots and grapes. I cleared and covered some of my raised beds at the allotment, putting them to bed for winter. I will plant some garlic next week and I already have purple sprouting broccoli, white sprouting broccoli, kale, leeks and spring cabbage happily growing for harvesting next year.
I found a bag of cauliflower in the freezer, goodness knows how long it’s been there, anyway I roasted it with a homegrown Squash and some homegrown garlic, sage & onions then blitzed it with some veg stock into a beautiful soup for lunch.
Hubby made a lovely vegetable stew with lentils, pearl Barley and an amazing dumpling on top, winter is definitely on its way.

Your allotment produce sounds fabulous
And the lovely things you make with it. If you haven't already tried it, pearl barley makes a lovely risotto and cheaper than rice.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
