I'll kick the stories off..
I met my husband via a mutual friend. She (Italian and a true matchmaker) told each of us we were in love with the other and set us up on a date. We only found out a few weeks later. That was 26 years ago

I met Mr M on 'tinterweb 7 years ago. Both bereaved after long happy marriages, he has six children so I ignored him at first as I thought he was just looking for a housekeeper! But we got chatting, and when I was in Liverpool with friends for the Matthew Street festival I got very emotional in The Cavern, as my first husband was a musician, he'd seen the Beatles live, and he would have loved it. Then I went to the Catholic Cathedral and lit a candle for him, don't know why, Mike was a Catholic, but I'm not, and I don't even know why Catholics light candles, but it seemed like the right thing to do. When I told Mr M about these things, he totally understood, and it was clear from his responses that he completely 'got me'. I agreed to meet him for a date ten days later, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Incidentally he took a job in Asda to pay for our wedding!I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards. Best friends wedding 8 weeks ago (yes, yes early days) she purposely sat us next to each other on the table, it was my dance moves that seduced him in the end...or lack of them! hehe0

Match.com...the last day of my subscription (I'd given up on meeting anyone on there!) and the first day of his. Married two years now and he's still raging that he paid for six months membership and 'met' me on the first day. :rotfl:"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." Sat next to each other at the Xmas meal. We worked/volunteered in different offices so only saw this very scary woman at staff meetings. Turned out she wasn't (quite as) scary face to face
Neither of us was looking so I think we were more natural in conversation0
