On the plus side - apparently we pay less for a Big Mac in the UK than they do in the States :T

Your price comparisons aren't accurate though. UK sites will show the price inclusive of VAT whilst US sites show the price prior to the addition of Sales and Use tax as this varies not only between states but also between counties.

Precisley, people seem to conveniently ignore this part in their rage. The iphone in the UK cost £833 + VAT and $999 + sales tax in the US. So not comparable after all. Also at the point they set the prices the £ would have been a lot lower.

Anyway it's moot they can charge what they want.

    yeah, £833 at $1.32 to the £ is $1099.56

also in the US they get a one year warranty, while we are covered by an up to 6 year warranty under the CRA 2015.

the cost in the USA for an extended warranty to 2 years is $199, meaning we are BETTER off in the UK at £833 + tax VS $1198 +tax (£907.57 at current exchange rates)...

SO basically the OP doesn't have a clue.

A lot of McDonalds in the USA run a $5 for 2 Big Macs deal.

The USA McDonalds app has very good deals on it - e.g. free milkshake with any purchase, or discounts when you spend certain amounts.

I bought a new camera recently and it was about £50 cheaper buying it here rather than in the USA
  • Also, I believe Apple can make you return it to the country that you bought it from before processing a repair (I don't think they enforce but I'm sure its in their T&Cs) Do the phones from the US even work on our carriers?

Don't encourage him, hopefully it'll be another 9 years before he decides to return and post something sensible this time :D
