im sorry, but i beg to differ. is it not my "consumer right" not to be overcharged for a product?
You aren't being overcharged though, You are being charged the price on the label, your choice to pay or not,
Everything you buy isn't the same price everywhere
You mention VAT, it comes out of the profit they are making on the price so varying taxes will mean varying prices0 -

You're not being overcharged. Companies are free to sell their products at any price they choose in whichever market they choose. It's called free enterprise. There is no global mechanism to fix prices throughout the world, nor is there every likely to be.
So yes, you go ahead and try to stop this 'currency symbol scam' which isn't a scam by the way. But in doing so you have to be aware that company selling a product at $399 in the US has every right to sell that same product at £499 in the UK, and yes, there are still idiots who would buy that product just because it has a fruity logo.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Your price comparisons aren't accurate though. UK sites will show the price inclusive of VAT whilst US sites show the price prior to the addition of Sales and Use tax as this varies not only between states but also between counties.0

so your advice is, either live like a hermit, move to a different country, or troll the internet forums.
thats great advice....thanks
I will give you another suggestion as you were not keen on the first three; develop a suitable level of understanding of basic economics to so you can grasp the concepts of market forces and the laws of supply and demand so that you can understand why different countries pay different amounts for different things.0 -
On the plus side - apparently we pay less for a Big Mac in the UK than they do in the States :T
