How do people afford £30k-£60k cars with normal jobs?

Indeed. I'm a bit of a car fan boy myself and if I had 25 grand I wouldn't be buying a Golf R32. I'd be buying an Escort Cosworth or Lancia Delta Integrale or a Mk1 Golf GTI etc. A classic. I always find those R32, Type R lines a bit daft.
It's like saying:
"I'm a real ale enthusiast",
"oh really, what's you favourite?"
"bombardier"
Ok.
£25 grand for an R32? You'll get a mint one for around £10-12K.
Likewise you have to also think about usability. Something like an Escort Cosworth isnt a car you would drive every day nowadays. Its something to keep in a garage and keep warm and dry and take out on nice days.
A Golf R - which is what i think you mean at £25K - will give you a lot more performance and be something that is as at home nipping to the shops and as easy to drive as a regular Golf when you want it to be.
Its always something i've struggled with. Any time i've had a particular car and just kept it garaged it ends up being an expensive ornament.0 -
I lease a Skoda Yeti 4x4, too spec (heated leather seats, park assist, Bluetooth, sat nav ect) on a 24 month deal for £192 per month. No deposit, £250 admin fee.
Not a £30-60k car, obviously, but still a fantastic deal.0
