I hope everyone had a lovely day despite everything! I had a very pleasant dinner and was treated to chocolate, a new onesie (unicorn) and candles!
Just been out today to get a mitre box and some saws. Also picked up loo roll and a nice new throw while I was at it.
Been making plans for the new year, just some realistic things to aim for, like reading a certain number of books and getting up at the same time every day. Lockdown threw off my routine, so I really want to reclaim that for 2021 and develop some healthy habits.2 -

Yes, thank you atrixa! This is the time of year for reflection and goal setting, and I am thinking healthy thoughts whilst munching chocolate cake...."...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

Thank you everyone! I had a lovely break then decided to use this weekend to get the coving up in the bedroom. I have thrown a minor tantrum.
Long and short of it is, I didn't realise the mitre box I bought (the only one available) was the wrong size for the coving, so I have confused myself with angles horribly and I have to go to W1ckes tomorrow morning to pick up a coving tool (less than a fiver). I couldn't find a suitable mitre box for delivery or collection online. Every time someone useful had linked one online they were no longer available. I think I understand how to cut them now. My expectations are quite low due to the wonkiness of the house but I have plenty of caulk to fill in gaps.
Happy new year, all!2 -
Good luck with coving. I applaud you Atrixa.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222
