    Well the particular story of this couple was they were from York, visiting his friends in Penrith.

    No food in the car. Presumably nothing else either, as snacks are the first thing to bring when expecting trouble.

    I've just checked near there too, and a number of roads are closed there. It's almost like there's something happening all over the country which is making travel difficult...

    I've started looking at the "proper" beast from the east videos. Some very entertaining ones, but some with people who are amazingly poor at coping with snow.
