If you remove all the air from liquid containers they shouldn't leak due to changes in pressure. Not always possible though.
  • If you feel you have to take small drinks cartons put them in plastic boxes in he hold luggage.

I think you are overthinking this. Get as much water as you can at the airport

No problem with small packets of Chedders, something I always take with me.

I guess the children will have rucksacks as hand luggage so take empty water bottles to fill up at the airport and put them a packet of Chedders, cereal bars and perhaps a banana or apple in their rucksacks they won't starve.

Don't forget you are on holiday you don't have to give them their normal foods at normal times, enjoy yourself.

Oh and finally don't pack crisps in your luggage unless you want packets of small crumbs when you open them.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

Would it not just be a whole heap easier to pack them each a tupperware box with crisps and snacks to put in their travel backpacks and just pick up some drinks at the airport? That's what mine always did, then they could eat when they wanted rather than having to wait until they got to the villa and unpack. My 16yo still does this now.

  • I would suggest taking empty water bottles, which you fill up after security. I also take
those tiny concentrated squash bottles (50ml) like Oasis mighty drops mixed berry and put it in your clear toiletries bag. Big packets of kettle crisps and jelly babies for when the plane is coming down for the children's ears.

Also, before we go through security at 5am, we all have an Up and Go breakfast drink and the kids are usually happy until mid-morning.
  • Last time I went to an airport W. H. Smith were doing there cheap meal deal which included a drink so I just bought that and took it on as hand luggage.
