Sorry to hear your rabbit is unwell
Unfortunately the small animals like rabbits, hamsters, etc aren't long-lived. I don't know why but I had it in my head the furry moron was a chinchilla.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Sorry to hear about the furry moron, I hope he is ok. Vets are so costly , I know I couldn't afford the bills.
You have been very busy again I see, at least in the holidays you will have 6 weeks to do things so you can have a rest in between.
DS2 is he home Wednesday? He seems to have been gone ages , I bet you are looking forward to seeing him.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0 -

Thanks Beanie.

Thanks SA. Chinchillas are lovely but the furry moron is definitely a bunny

Thanks Sunshine. DS2 is home on Wednesday, he's been gone for six weeks .

The furry moron is home from the vet. It cost £188 altogether
. The vet thinks he has gut stasis. He's got four types of medicine: a pain killer, medicine to make his gut work, medicine to line his gut, and powdered food until he starts eating again!
That visit to the vet has cost more than I earn in a month. Anyway hopefully the little fella will get better now. We are very fond of him.

Good to hear he is ok. Can you not use your EF to pay yourselves back . It was an emergency after all.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0 -
Thanks Sunshine
. We can if we have to and at this rate we may have to dip into the EF
.
We've had to buy a new oven, a new freezer and now this vet bill recently . On top of DS1, DH and my dad's birthdays, plus father's day and fetching DS3 from uni . So it's been an expensive time recently.
Hopefully the furry moron will recover though and not need any more vet visits.

Anyway I've cleaned out the furry moron so he has a nice cage and he's had his pain relief medicine. Today I've also washed towels and they're drying in the garden.
I felt quite stressed while DS1 and DH were at the vet, about the vet bill, money generally and the state of the house. But I distracted myself by doing some word searches in a book I bought in the W0rks a few weeks ago. It did quite a good job of distracting my mind from stressful thoughts so I'm glad I bought it. Maybe I should buy one of those adult colouring books too.

Oh blimey HHD that's a lot of money but hopefully furry moron will get better with the meds. Does it belong to the boys? Just thinking if 2 of them are earning maybe you could all chip in rather than you having to pay for it all?
No more pets for us either when the dogs have gone to the big kennel in the sky. It's too heartbreaking losing them and also too expensive keeping them  DS should be about 18 by the time anything happens and they've never been without a pet so they've not missed out.
Fingers crossed July won't be as expensive for you. It does seem to have been one thing after anotherxx

The furry moron belongs to DS2 who paid for the animal and the cage, because when we got him we said we couldn't really afford a pet. So I do feel inclined to ask DS2 to contribute to the vet bill, but DH is saying let's see.
We're not going to get any more pets either. Although I love the moron, I hate cleaning him out, it's hard to keep the floor clean and I always live in fear of vet bills like this.
Yes I really hope that July is a cheaper month for us.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I agree with you HHD
Not just because it's his pet but if he can afford to travel I think he should put to, even if Mum & Dad also help out, as we tend to do
