  • Hope you had a lovely meal out - rather nice not to have to cook when it's so hot.
    August is our expensive month.

Had my pre-op assessment. Nurse needed 2 vials of blood and I ended up with 3 plasters on various bits of me (OH had his annual blood check which was achieved in 2 mins & 1 attempt!!). I am apparently very healthy - yay me ! No date suggested for op and she could answer only one of my 9 questions.

  • Glad to hear about the meal out. If you don’t give yourself the occasional treat, you’ll end up completely disheartened

Hi HHD :) I'm sure the teacher's are grateful to have somebody so enthusiastic in their class and getting to know everybody can only be a good thing - they may actually put a request in for you if a vacancy comes up.

June is an expensive month for us as well with birthdays etc. and I've no idea when I last managed to top any pots up so I'm really looking forward to a new month starting.

Hope your DH is enjoying his birthday and you have a lovely evening out. xx
    Thanks TF2 :).

The meal was really nice last night and cost £42 which could have been a lot worse.

I've had a fairly productive day so far. I skipped my Saturday saunter today. Instead I've been out with DH to drop some clutter at the charity shop, we bought some toiletries we needed and some snacks that DH wanted for today as it's his birthday weekend. I said we'd better not make a habit of buying more food after we've already done a weekly food shop . We also got two storage boxes for DS2's room. Altogether about £40 was spent .

When we got home I put some clothes on to wash and then hung them in the garden, put another wash on, emptied all the bins in the house, sorted out four rubbish bags that DH got from DS2's room and disposed of them in our wheelie bins.

After that I weeded the front garden because it was full of weeds and it's been bugging me for ages. It looks a lot nicer now :T.

So despite it being a hot and humid day, I've got quite a lot done. I'm going to try and relax now.

Plans for tomorrow include washing and ironing my work trousers, ironing all my summer tops, and cleaning out the furry moron.

In good news we've had the insurance money paid into our account to cover the painting of the kitchen. We've been thinking about it though and have decided to paint the kitchen ourselves. We will use part of the money to buy paint and stain blocker but will do the labour ourselves. We'll use the rest of the money to get a new back gate and frame installed in our garden as ours is rotting away. There will also be enough money to pay for a fence along the top of our back wall. This would give us privacy from the back lane, which would mean we could chop down the hedge which is the bane of my life as it grows about a foot a week in the summer and which casts shade onto all the plants in the border. It seems a better use of the money.

Sounds like a good use of the insurance money, why pay someone if you can do it yourself.

Glad you enjoyed your meal :)
