Hi HHD :) I think you made the right decision not to do the volunteering today. You've had a pretty rough couple of days what with one thing and another and you've also recently been under the weather with a cold so I'd take it as easy as you can for a few days.

Your insurance policy does sound really good and I hope it covers everything you'd like doing to get you back to normal again.

Glad to hear DS finally arrived at his destination safe and sound. I'd be awake worrying as well so don't think you're alone in that respect. :o DD has mentioned back packing again  She's animal mad so I've told her to look at one of those conservation type holidays and see if anything appeals to her. A 'normal' holiday would cost money so I don't see a problem with paying to go somewhere and helping out and getting some experience. Not sure if anything will come of it, but I'd feel happier if she did something like that on her own as hopefully there's some organisation to it.

Enjoy the rest of your day. xx

Thank you TF2 :). I'm still all bunged up and tired from the cold so I know that's not helping, not to mention the lack of sleep, floor mopping and general stress . I could have done without going to work today, but don't want to be unreliable so I'm glad I went, but it has tired me out a lot :(.

I agree that a conservation holiday would be safer for DD than wandering about on her own  as she would be part of group activities.

I would be a lot more worried if DS2 was a girl. He's quite tall and keeps himself fit, plus has done mixed martial arts so wouldn't look an easy target for mugging, but he's not big enought to seem like a challenge either IYSWIM. He's also quite wary and careful, so hopefully he'll be okay.

I think you're more alert when alone too. If DS2 was with a friend he might be busy talking or showing off, whereas as he's alone he'll be able to listen and observe his surroundings more without distractions.

This is what insurance is for...

As for the fence, I've never painted a fence panel in my life... they seem to last quite a long time. If wind is a concern, then use trellis and grow stuff through it :)

Good news about the insurance paying out.....it’s made me think I really must get some:o it was one of the things that went when I was paying things off. Dh thinks all insurance is a con and they try and wriggle out of paying but it really does make me think I need some when I read stories like yours.

    Thanks both of you :).

Insurance definitely does pay out in genuine cases. You need to check what you're covered for and use a reputable company, but it's definitely worth having I think.

Awww, I'm sure she'll be fine if she's careful, especially if she goes with a group type conservation thing. I'm sure DS2 would be a very good bodyguard though :rotfl:.
