I always feel guilty when I walk past a policeman despite the fact that, apart from the traffic cone/singing in the street incident, I've never done anything remotely illegal in my life!

The weather has been very mild in the Midlands today by the way.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Policemen do seem to have that effect on people :D. Luckily the one next door to me is very nice.

:rotfl: DS's are all the same beanie :D. We abandoned the traffic cone by the side of a dark road last night, and now I'm worried someone saw us and we'll be fined for littering . It's wrong to keep it, but how do you legitimately get rid of it? I'd be a terrible criminal, nerves of jelly :rotfl:.

  • I felt very tired again this morning as I woke up at about 5.00am thinking about the wedding and what I need to do to get ready for it and the journey :(.

Anyway I decided that I need to start going for my morning walks again as I always sleep better afterwards.

I first started my morning walks and healthy eating 18 months ago because I felt ill all the time and couldn't sleep. After a health check I was told there was nothing wrong with me. I realised that the cause was a combination of stress, bad eating habits and being unfit.

So I stopped eating chocolate on a daily basis (had fruit instead), restricted alcohol to the weekends and went for a walk most mornings. This had a magical effect. Over a year I lost two stone, started sleeping better, felt much more energetic and felt more cheerful :j.

However the recent stress of the F & F offers saga, the flu like illness and BIL being ill with subsequent Sussex trip has made me come off the wagon :(. I've been eating badly and missing my walks. As a result I'm back to being tired all the time, plus I've put on weight .

After the wedding I'm going to get properly back into my healthy routine, but I managed a short walk this morning. I had to boot myself out of the front door as I really didn't feel like it, but as soon as I got into the park among the grass and trees I felt really calm and peaceful :).

I only managed half of my normal walk as I've lost a lot of my fitness , but I do feel better for it and hopefully I'll sleep more peacefully tonight.

I know this may not have anythiing to do with saving money but I believe that anything that affects my mood for the better will help me to be sensible with my finances :money:.

  • Today's plan is to dry on my black dress and see if it fits me. If it does then great, if not I'll have to resort to my jacket and trousers. The dress is washing at the moment as it got a bit dusty in storage. Then this evening I need to encourage the men to try on their suits and shirts to check they still fit. Once that's done I'll feel more organised.

Today hasn't been a NSD as DH had to get milk and bread on the way back from dropping DS3 at college. Costing about £5, he can't remember how much he spent .

Apart from that we'll be in all day working. Have a good Tuesday everyone :).

That's about the time I got to sleep! Now I'm wondering if it was dietary as I had a meal late in the evening.. unlikley to be lack of fresh air and exercise as I went for a run, albeit a short one. I did have my phone go off just after I'd nodded off, and was then awake for hours... grrr. Normally I leave it switched off but I needed the alarm on.

Well done for getting out for your walk. You'll soon be back to where you were fitness-wise.

  • HH if you've got a smartphone why not try using a pedometer app on it? That way you can keep track of your steps as long as you usually carry your phone with you - and set yourself little challenges to get your step count up a bit too. It really shook me up when I realised how many days I used to do hardly any steps - now I'm rarely below 10,000 a day. The good thing is that when you've been fitter it's masses easier to get the fitness levels back again. Another thing that might help is focusing on having a regular routine as far as times for going to bed - that makes a big difference I find.

CherryFudge it's horrible when your phone wakes you up just as you're sinking into deeper sleep. Mine is on do not disturb after 10pm so only people I've got saved to favourites can get through.

I do think that your diet affects your mood and energy levels directly, but I'm not sure about a heavy meal late at night. I never sleep well after drinking alcohol, unless I stick to one glass. Being woken up after you've nodded off is infuriating .
