That's interesting Cumbria. I'll definitely write to them and say I'm not satisfied with their response.
You could always threaten them with the Ombudsman or whoever it is that you can appeal financial decisions with.0 -
HH , I googled " How far back can you claim packaged bank account charges " There were some comments from people who posted on a forum in jan 2018 , who had been successful as far back as early as 2000.
As carboot says you can always go the ombudsman. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Thank you both of you. I thought it seemed a bit unreasonable. I'll definitely write a letter next week and threaten to take it to the ombudsman. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

HH. I know you'll be doing your volunteering at the moment (I hope it's going well and as enjoyable as ever:j)but just wanted to post this while I have a few spare minutes.
I was on the MSE reclaiming section to check again on my likelihood of having a claim for packaged bank accounts (and still don't think I have:mad:)

There's a lot of advice on there about what to do if the bank says 'no'. It's quite a long way down the page but it mentions using Resolver to put in a complaint against the decision. I also think there's a letter template which you might find useful when taking your complaint further. I haven't read much of it myself as I haven't even submitted an initial claim yet because I think it's a non-starter for me:(. No idea how useful it might be to you but I hope it makes things a bit easier for you.
Good Luck:beer:0 -

Good Luck:beer:. I'll definitely read that. A template letter would be much easier to use as I was going to struggle a bit to phrase my reply.

I've done my volunteering which was fun as usual, apart from losing an earring on the way there
. It's very wet and windy today so the children had to stay in the classroom at breaktime, which always makes the next lesson more interesting  :rotfl:.
This afternoon I have a list of things I want to do:
Ring my aunt (she's found out)
Ring NP0w3r and set up a payment plan
Wash & dry towels
Fold up clean laundry
Organise my clothesFinally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I'm glad it's Satuday tomorrow. I feel like it's been a busy week, but we've got a lot done.
There are a couple of things niggling at me at the moment. One is my college assignment that I haven't started yet. I want to set aside Tuesday for that because I don't want to leave it to the last minute.
The other thing niggling me is that I want to reply to our banks re the packaged bank accounts. I'm going to do my assignment first on Tuesday and then do the bank letters after that if I have time. Otherwise I could do the letters on Wednesday afternoon.
I want to get these things done because otherwise they'll be hanging over me and stressing me.
I've set up a payment plan with NP0w3r over the phone. We had one before but it was cancelled due to us missing payments. We were previously paying £45 a week. We're now paying £32 a week under the new plan, so maybe my efforts to save energy are finally paying off :T. We still owe them £414.08, so we're paying £26 a week usage and £6 a week towards the debt. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

The fuel bills are getting silly. Just paid a big bill myself.
Glad volunteering went well and was enjoyable.
Like you I will be writing letters for PP1 over the weekend. Such fun!
