  • I've been doing some de-cluttering :).

I've also persuaded DS1 to go through his sock/underwear and his tee shirt drawers and put aside anything he never wears. He had socks in there that he'd worn at school and he's 25 . So he 's ended up getting rid of two thirds of his socks. I've chucked away the underwear he didn't wear because I don't think anyone will want second hand underwear!

It's a drop in the ocean compared to what needs doing, but it's a good start :).

I've also hung up the laundry I washed earlier, put away the clean laundry from yesterday and emptied all the bins in the house :T.

I have in the past taken every item of a category of underwear, lets say knickers, out of the drawer, put them in a box and only taken from the box to wear. Anything that doesn't fit, has holes or is horrible for some reason gets put in fabric recycling, the others are worn, washed and put back in the drawer. It's a really simple way to go through all of them - painlessly!

I also operate a one-in one-out system, I still have way too many clothes, but at least it doesn't get worse !

I love that you have your little routines, and I can see things get done in your house, like the rabbit being taken care of as well as your laundry. Me and routines are as far apart as it's possible to be, although I operate well with lists before visitors come. But that is 'crisis cleaning' not day-to-day stuff. When I think that my mother had her days for doing everything, and they would never stay over till Monday when they came for a weekend because she 'always did the washing on Monday'. I think I've carried on rebelling against rigid household routines for a ridiculous number of years !! When does one 'put away childish things' ?

I don't remember my mum having set days to do things. She was a teacher so tended to whizz around and get lots done in the holidays and do the bare minimum in the term time. I think we often want to do things differently than our parents because we want to be our own individual selves and not carbon copies of them :).

I clean out the furry moron every Saturday because then I know it will get done every week without fail. It would be very easy to think, oh I'll do it tomorrow and then it would never get done. The poor little chap would live in a very wet smelly house by then. It helps that the cage is in the living room and the smell can get a bit overpowering .

I think my little routines help me to feel secure too as I get a bit anxious if I have an empty day stretching ahead of me. It should feel like freedom, but instead I worry about negative thoughts intruding so I like to give myself jobs to do as a distraction:o.

  • I've given NP0w3r our gas and electric readings so our bill should be accurate now when it comes. Hopefully we haven't used so much that they put our payments up even more  It's been quite an efficient day today.

I seem to be feeling tired a lot lately, but I'm wondering if the cold weather is causing it. Perhaps the body has to work harder to keep warm and that causes tiredness? I am getting fed up with feeling cold, so I hope it gets a bit warmer tomorrow as promised.

I think the cold definitely makes us feel more tired.

Just thinking if it was Monday afternoon when the accountant requested the transfer it will probably be Monday as the 5th working day? Fingers crossed!

    Thanks Wannabe :).

The accountant said she was going to request the rebate last Friday afternoon, so if she did then today is the 5th working day. But if she waited until Monday morning to do it, then I guess this coming Monday might be the 5th working day.

Of course there's no guarantee it will take five days, she just said it NORMALLY takes five days!

We've just got to try and be patient but it's very hard :o.

  • Hope it arrives Monday for you.

I did the dereigster thing, this time I made sure I have a reference number for the submission. It now says keep charging VAT until they say otherwise and that I will have to do one more VAT return sadly. You can specify the date you want to dereigster from though so maybe do it sooner rather than later but specify the date you have in mind rather than end up having to do another quarter?

Thanks Redo that's useful to know. I'm glad you managed to de-register this time :).
