Did you say you were de-registering for VAT? I do hope so. The new way they are going to do it will cost you to administer it as you need software to do it. Also of course you won't be waiting for a customer to pay you £120 so you can pay out £20 VAT which must add to your financial worries, just waiting for £100 so you can pay a bill.
Yes Badmemory we are going to de-register for Vat
. I've been wanting to for years because it's been costing us hundreds of pounds a year in late payment penalties, plus the admin which I have to do, and it costs smaller customer VAT which they can't claim back. But DH dug his heels in and refused to budge .
However the new regulations and software needed have convinced even DH that it's time to de-register as we're well under the threshold :T. He wants to do one more VAT return so that it coincides with our year end at the end of March. I'm so delighted at only having one more VAT return to do :T.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

How annoying that the money hasn't turned up. I think it's meant to be milder again next week. x
It is very frustrating about the money as we've been waiting a whole week looking forward to it coming

Aah, that explains it:T:rotfl:
I don't eat many sweets, not because I'm health (and tooth)conscious but because I haven't a sweet tooth. Apparently I wasn't even keen on sweets even as a young child. Now, give me a family-sized bag of crisps or any savoury snacks and I could wolf the lot down in no time at all:o. I've had Smarties of course but wasn't aware the different colours had different flavours. Or maybe they don't but just look different.0 -

Is it coming by cheque or bank transfer? Either way, it might appear tomorrow:j0 -
I've been doing some de-cluttering
. I've sorted out three pairs of suit trousers in three different sizes which I never wear because they are wide leg and I prefer narrow leg trousers.
I've also persuaded DS1 to go through his sock/underwear and his tee shirt drawers and put aside anything he never wears. He had socks in there that he'd worn at school and he's 25 . So he 's ended up getting rid of two thirds of his socks. I've chucked away the underwear he didn't wear because I don't think anyone will want second hand underwear!
So I've got a big bag of socks, three of his tee shirts and my three pairs of suit trousers to be dropped of at the charity shop tomorrow :T.
It's a drop in the ocean compared to what needs doing, but it's a good start
.
I've also hung up the laundry I washed earlier, put away the clean laundry from yesterday and emptied all the bins in the house :T.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

It's coming by bank transfer so should have taken five days according to our accountant
. Apparantly a cheque can take weeks .
I don't suppose a bank transfer would appear on a Saturday so it looks like Monday will be the earliest it comes now

My bank updates the balance but doesn't itemise any credits or debits over the weekend. I have to wait until Monday for that. At least you'd know it had arrived by the available balance shown if your online account works that way.0 -

Yes ours tends to do that too so we'll check it anyway tomorrow just in case. It's soooo disappointing. DH and I actually find it hard to sleep properly when we're expecting money because we usually need it so badly
. Oh well we'll have to learn to be patient. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Orange smarties have a different flavour.
