Evening
Colours: I dont wear navy/dark blue/dark browns with black. That includes jeans for me. Needs to be a paler blue to go with black in my humble opinion.
Jeans: love my jeans. I too remember prewashed when they came in. Oh the novelty of not having to wear them for years before they faded a bit. However I never liked the grittiness in the pockets on first few wears!
Tie-dye: firmly in favour. I'm an old hippie too and also added tshirts etc to a bucket of dye, bizarrely tied up clothes making pretty patterns. I have just 2 weeks ago dyed two white cotton tops as they were thin cotton and I dont like the pink tinge of skin showing through then showing the bit where my trousers start showing through. I dyed them lilac and nowadays it comes in a tub with salt already added. Just for fun I chucked in some white socks that had seen better days and wrapped some string round 1 pair to make tie dye !!! Haven't done that for years and years and here we are talking about it. The tops turned out fab. On 1 the embroidery was cotton so its lilac too, the other embroidery is poly thread so it has stayed white. Both look amazing. So pleased.
Sleep: sorry theres been a lack of sleep. Its rubbish being tired.
Being Scottish: I'm Scottish too and remember bennetton, sweater shop, sock shop, Chelsea girl but not skirt and slack. Wasnt sure which one was being discussed.
Mags: dont remember Petticoat magazine. I went from Twinkle and Bunty onto Jackie then straight onto the The Peoples Friend which I've now read for about 30 years !! Teenager to old dear in one fell swoop lol
Others: Glad course going well. Glad photos now going into frames - perhaps if ud done it too soon you wouldn't have felt much pleasure out of seeing them and the time is right now? Thanks re info on reclaiming tax.

Just to join in the Sweater Shop debate - I remember it, it was really popular and everyone wanted their stuff. I had a jazzy patterned woollen waistcoat from there. :rotfl: I loved it at the time but looking at photos now it looks horrendous. :rotfl: I used to wear it with polo necks & leggings. To be fair I was only about 11 at the time & this was the same era as the shell suit!:rotfl: I had a fetching bright blue one. :rotfl:

When I went off to uni I discovered jumble sales - wonderful. I bought a long black velvet dress that I think was more of a collection of bits of fabric sewn together randomly, but the sheen on the velvet disguised the many seams ! I also bought a fur coat from another student for £3, kept it and loved it for 2 years, then sold it for £3 to another student !! My father swore we got turned away from a restaurant because of that coat.daisy_1571 wrote: »Evening

Dxx. Maybe it is a better time to have photos of my mum. They make me feel sad but also full of love when I see them. I don't want her to be forgotten, she was too special for that.
You're another hippy like Carboot :rotfl:. I remember Bunty and Jackie.
