My cold is still making me feel bad, but the sore throat has gone and my runny nose is turning phlegmy (sorry too much information ), so it's heading in the right direction. But I still need to carry tissues around with me, have a headache, aches and pains, and generally feel rough
.
Hopefully it'll feel improved by tomorrow because I need to do my food shop. I'm lucky that I can stay at home and rest, but I don't like staying at home resting and would much rather be out doing things.
Sorry to moan.
I will do some more laundry today though to try and catch up. I need to post DS3 any of his clothes that I find and wash! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

It's made worse because of having lost my mum recently, and my head cold meant I couldn't do much. Normally I would have gone to Pilates, gone for a walk and done lots of housework to distract myself.
But my sore throat has gone and my cold is thickening up, which can be more unpleasant  but means it's heading in the right direction. I still feel pretty rough though.
Poor you ! Sending hugs, and I'd love to send you a strong immune system as you've had so many stresses over the last few months, that you are just fair game for the 'buggy' season.

Thanks Elizabeth. I wish you could send me a strong immune system too.
I'm using value loo paper but my nose is getting very sore now .
Anyway at least I know the cold won't last forever and I'll be able to get out and about and do things again soon. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Reading OneBrokeLady's diary has inspired me to do some decluttering when I get over this horrible cold.
I'm not going to tackle our home office because that is DH's domain and most of the clutter is his. The main problem areas that I want to tackle are mine and DH's bedroom and the landing where clutter is collecting. I keep the kitchen and living room fairly well policed and remove clutter fairly regularly from there.
DH has lots of clutter like cables, ancient floppy disks etc, which he won't let me get rid of but never makes time to go through .
But if he won't get rid of them I could at least get them out of sight in the void. So if I can declutter the void a bit I could make room for DH's clutter. That would get it out of the bedroom and landing at least.
So I need to get some stuff out of the void and go through it to see what I can get rid of. Then the space I make can swallow up DH's clutter. There are some bin liners and boxes of toys in there which I will get DS1 to look at and tell me what I can get rid of, hopefully most of it! DS2 may be less happy to go through things, but DS3 will probable be willing to look at his old toys in the summer and tell me which ones I can get rid of.
Last summer I cut down a big bush in the garden which needed constant pruning and the previous year I cut down our side hedge. This time this saved enable me to plant flowers in pots which made the garden look lovely in the summer. My ultimate decluttering goal for the garden is to get rid of our back hedge, but I can't do that until we can afford to have a fence or wall built as our garden wall is low and the back hedge is the only thing that stops people being able to peer into our kitchen window . But the changes I've already made have made our garden much lower maintenance and it now looks neater and tidier most of the time, which stressed me less.
I won't start any of this until I get over this cold though, just the thought of it is making me feel exhausted right now. But as OBL says, less clutter means more time for the things I enjoy doing, as it makes cleaning easier, and I also feel much less stressed in an uncluttered environment.

HH my ongoing quest for decluttering continues in my head - and our bedroom is my number one candidate too, funny the way stuff just gathers, isn't it! I found before that just 15 minutes at a time made a surprising impact on the "stuff" - but like you've found, all too often hitting a wall where it's "someone else's stuff" proves to be the de-railing factor!
Hope you get over the lurgy soon! There seems to be another wave of it going around.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

. Someone else's stuff is certainly the trickiest part of decluttering .
The trouble with bedrooms is that you don't tidy them for visitors and it's only us that sees them. But we should declutter there for our own sake, when you consider it's the first thing we see in the morning and the last thing we set eyes on when we go to sleep! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
