    Thanks DIA :).

Thanks Wannabe :). Unlike you I love clothes shopping but try to keep away from clothes shops unless I have money to spend, so I'm not tempted.

I can take or leave clothes shopping and always have been that way, thank goodness, knowing my total ineptness with money:eek:. Being totally broke didn't affect me much at all where clothes buying was concerned, unlike shopping for other things:(. I loved clothes when I was younger and had a great social life though. I used to make most of my own clothes when money was tight as a student and when I first started working. I loved nothing better than discovering a really nice, inexpensive and unusual remnant of fabric and managing to make something eye-catching out of it:j.. No one would ever imagine, seeing me now, that I was ever so fashion conscious. Well, maybe not 'fashion conscious' as such, I had more of a boho style:rotfl:

Shoe shopping is another thing altogether. I hate it with a vengeance:mad: and equate the feeling of dread before the event and the anxiety during it with the worst kind of dental treatment:o. You should see the state of every pair but one of my shoes, boots and sandals. They're always clean but otherwise definitely struggling to survive. It's a pity I can't make my own:rotfl:
  • Just to add to the 'nesh' debate. I'm definitely nesh, even super nesh:(. Sadly, OH is the total opposite. I don't know if there's a specific word for that:rotfl:. I can think of plenty that might fit, not very complimentary either, after one of our disagreements about the temperature in the house:eek:

Great to hear the jeans are done enjoy wearing them HH. Hope the boiler is behaving itself now , I seem to think when it's on the frost setting it comes on and checks the temperature itself , but what do I know.

Enjoy your volunteering this morning , it's a cold one here again. I am off to discover the delights of the local library after joining , I have Beanie to thank for the suggestion.

    Enjoy your volunteering, HH:beer:

Well done on getting the jeans shortened:j. I hate shortening trousers of any kind but jeans are the worst because the fabric is thick and harder to stitch by hand. I know you said you don't have a sewing machine so have no choice but to hand-stitch them . I still have my trusty old friend but can't even be bothered to get it out and set it up just for a pair of trousers:o:eek:. So, like you, I put it off as I hate shortening trousers by hand. What a pair we are:rotfl:

It's not just my trousers either as OH always needs his trousers taking up. He buys all his clothes in the sales and never manages to find the right length at a price he's willing to pay:(

That was very clever of you to make your own clothes Carboot. I wouldn't be able to do that. My mum used to make her own dresses and ours when we were little and they were always lovely, but that's not a talent I've inherited.
