  • I'VE TAKEN UP MY JEANS :j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:T:j:T:j. It's taken me all afternoon but now I have jeans that I can wear without rolling them up :D. .

    Hurray !!

  • Well done with the jeans. I hate trouser buying for the same reason so tend to live in skirts or dresses. Jeans are a must for some pursuits though and have recently discovered M&S seem to fit me okayish. I hate spending money on them though. My recent purchase will probably see me out!
I’ll second Card Factory for cheap cards which are half way decent. I buy in bulk so I always have cards in stock from there.

Debt and Mortgage free from 2018

  • I would like to know why, and I absolutely do this myself, we spend more time thinking about doing something, talking about doing it, transferring it from one list to another, worrying about doing it, etc etc than we ever do actually DOING it !!!!

Answers on a belated greetings card, please !

I'm sure you'll find that there is something inside the boiler itself that says to come on when the input water temp drops below freezing & the frost has only just disappeared off my lawn.

They seem to programme all sorts of funny things into them. Eg, in summer when mine didn't come on at all for 2 months, every couple of days it came on (not the gas part, just the pump) & checked there was enough pressure in the system! If you wonder how I know, well I'm nesh & my heating is on thermostat & timer but never ever gets turned actually off.

ETA sorry folks who needed to google the meaning of nesh?

Nesh is an English dialect adjective meaning 'unusually susceptible to cold weather' and there is no synonym for this use. Usage has been recorded in Staffordshire, the East Midlands, Lancashire, North Wales, South Yorkshire and Shropshire.

I say Nesh but I'm originally from Derby which is East Midlands, people down here in Devon wonder what I'm saying :rotfl:

  • Well done on taking your jeans up Hairy,I'm the worst procrastinator in the world and it drives me mad,I heard a good idea the other day though and it was to have a power hour, you just focus on any jobs you need to get done in an hour so it could be an hours worth of ironing or several smaller jobs that add up to an hour, never leave a room without putting something away and the one minute rule, where you just spend one minute doing jobs that need doing but that keep being left such as changing a light bulb or dealing with the post

Thanks Sally :). I live in jeans mainly because they are so comfortable and don't need ironing.

Some jobs are unpleasant I guess so we need massive motivation to do them. The job I hate most is doing our accounts, so I always put those off for as long as possible :o.

That does sound like a good idea, although I only tend to procrastinate about things I hate doing like accounts. I'm quite good at working my way through lists generally because I love giving myself ticks :rotfl:. DH procrastinates a lot more than I do!

Well I've finally caught up with you, it took a while :rotfl:

Glad the jeans are sorted - I live in jeans at the weekend.

I get all my cards from Card Factory, can't beat it for cheap, good quality cards, no need to spend a lot.

As someone from the East Midlands (although born and bred down south) I am well used to the word "nesh", I am in fact "nesh" as I am always cold, if it's under 26 degrees it's freezing in my opinion. I want to throw into the mix the word "mardy" which I didn't know isn't a proper word until recently.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
