Well HHOD I think you definitely need to complain , you are a regular customer and know how the service usually is in costa .

Sorry about BIL , my friends husband has recently been diagnosed with the same cancer, he now has a hormone injection monthly for life. He is also having chemo for 6 treatments . He had secondary kidney cancer as well and had had his kidneyremoved . Not sure what stage his was though.

Hope you have a good day, only one more night of noise hopefully.

  • Thanks Cumbria. BIL is going to have three injections to tackle the prostate cancer (costing £400 each). His operation on Monday is to hopefully remove the spine lesions. Then I think they are hoping chemotherapy will sort out the spots on his lungs. Fingers crossed it is all successful.

  • DH and I had to go to the shops this morning. My fault because I forgot to buy my mum a present and card for her upcoming birthday and I'm seeing her this evening . What a bad daughter I am. Shows I'm distracted :o.

It turned into a bit of a spendy session. £2.80 for parking, £2.69 on ear plugs for me, £10 voucher for my mum and £3 on a card for my mum (I like to get her a nice card as she is special).

These were all the planned purchases. Now to list the unplanned ones. Ahem :o. While I was buying the birthday voucher I thought would also get a voucher for my mum for Christmas and one for stepmum for Christmas, so another £20 was spent .

Then we bought DH a new shirt for seeing customers, as he only has two which he alternates and he could really do with another. So that was £19.50 . Expensive but he needs to look smart for impressing customers.

Then as DH and I rarely go to the shops together we stopped for coffee. We spent £2.65 on my latte and £2.40 on coffee for DH. Unfortunately DH had neglected to have breakfast so he wanted a muffin which was £1.95 .

DH wanted to go to the pound shop but luckily forgot and drove in tge wrong direction. Phew, dodged a bullet there :rotfl:.

So a total spend of £65.04 :eek::eek::mad::mad::mad:. I'm never leaving the house again.

  • This afternoon will be housework orientated as the place is a tip. I got the dishwasher going before we left. Now the bath mats are washing and I've folded up and put away the washing on the clothes horse.

DH has promised to vacuum downstairs and I'm going to vacuum upstairs. Then I need to dry and put down the bathmats and get another wash on.

After that I could tackle the cobwebs lurking in various corners and do some general tidying, if I can face it, or sit down and post on here :).

Later we're going to my lovely parents for dinner :). Have a good Sunday everyone.

I spend more when I don't leave the house to be honest. I get more discerning when I can see things in real life :)

Sorry to hear about BIL, treatment is brilliant nowadays so I'm sure he'll be ok. Just remember how bleak it looked for Mr SA just over 4 years ago, who would have believed he would still be here.

    Enjoy your Sunday dinner :)
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Thanks SA. We definitely mustn't give up hope. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday :).
