Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I enjoyed Pilates and it was good seeing my friend again. I don't feel too bad this evening so maybe I didn't get as unfit as I thought over Christmas :rotfl:.
I forgot to have my snack before I went to Pilates, so I suddenly realised when I was cooking dinner that I was hungry because I hadn't eaten for seven hours . I did that once before. I forget to eat when I get busy. Well it will help to make up for the chocolate pudding I had at Christmas! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I know I am, sort of, well Debt Neutral as you cleverly put it, but until the last F&Fs are accepted and paid off I still in theory have debts:(
I recently noticed beanielou's massive collection of badges. I'm in awe:eek:
Congratulations on your 10 year badge :T. I hope you can get your debt free badge soon.
I'm delighted with my debt free badgebut the one I desperately want next is the mortgage free badge. I'm a long way from getting that one though unfortunately.

MSE is an amazing place. I've been here for over twelve years, although I did have a gap of a few years where I didn't visit the site. That's probably why I had so much debt . Anyway I'm planning on staying around for a good long time. I'd miss all you lovely people and it reminds me not to spend money. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I'm glad you had a nice time with your stepdad Hairy,I do like playing board games but don't know how to play any card games at all,my mum would never allow playing cards in the house when I was growing up because she said they were bad luck or devil cards,I've since fund out that playing cards used to be used for telling fortunes like Tarot cards,my Nan used to read tea leaves and probably used playing cards to divine with as well so that's probably why my mum wouldn't let us have any

I agree about MSE making an amazing difference:T
I didn't know Kissing Jen but I remember Taxi with great fondness. Lovely lady, so sad that she was taken so young:(0 -
My join date on my 'normal' account is September 2005! The bit that amuses me is that was my second account as I got locked out of the first which is why it is ***2. The boys were 1 and 2 when I joined, now DS1 is applying to sixth form college. I mainly posted in OS but set up an alter ego for the debt free diary in an attempt at vague anonymity but the cat and food obsession gave it away very quickly. Like you HHoD I am just down to mortgage now, but it's a huge debt and the lovely posters on DFW help to keep me on a straight path.My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. My family are a bit strange :rotfl:
We've always played cards with my mum and stepdad when the children were growing up, especially at Christmas, and I remember playing cards with my granny and grandad when I was a child too.
One of my favourites is Chase The Ace, and we play Wot sometimes which is a very old game. I'm terrible at remembering the rules, so I always have to be reminded if we haven't played it recently. :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

You been here for 13 years then like Beanie, a year longer than me. Why don't you post on the debt free thread and get your debt free badge Redo?
We only owe £40,000 on our mortgage, but as our income is so low we won't be able to pay if off any quicker at this rate, unless we get a windfall. We have nine years left to go, but I'd love to pay it off quicker than that. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Whist can also be called Trumps. I think DS3 is enjoying being home, but he's also looking forward to going back to uni.
I remember playing Trumps years ago when I was a teenager. Never realised it was also called Whist though. I used to wonder what Whist was when WI type women used to have 'Whist Drives' in books I have read!:rotfl:Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
