  • I've done my last volunteering session and my last Pilates session today, so I have more free time. And now we've been paid I can finally organise Christmas :j.

Tomorrow morning I'm getting the weekly food shop and then in the afternoon I'm going to buy, print, wrap up and post some Am@zon vouchers to family members, now we've finally got paid :).

Then during the rest of this week we need to get another present for DS2 and some stocking fillers for the DC. I have wrapping to do for the local family and also the house could do with a good clean before Christmas. Then we need to buy the food for Christmas day and boxing day too.

I'm really looking forward to getting organised :D.

In response to your final sentence, you always seem so organised:A. Whatever problems life throws at you somehow you find a way to work round them. You put me to shame:o. I know in this case you mean getting organised finalising your Christmas prep but you seem to have done such a lot of it already.

Wonderful news about being paid and great that it came with several shopping days to spare:j:j:j. Must be such a weight off your mind. Now all you need to do is shop, clean and cook;). And most of all, I hope, enjoy:beer::beer::beer:

What a run of happy events you've had this past few days. DS safely home, course enrolled on, and now money to spend:j. I'm so happy for you on all counts:beer:
  • Thank you Carboot I do feel much more cheerful now that we can afford Christmas and the course will give me a new focus in January :). It's lovely to have DS3 home for a whole month too :).

My real wish for 2019 is to get a job, as regular money would relieve pressure and stress from the whole family.

Hairy, I'm delighted! And as Wannabe mentioned yesterday, the 29p veg are back at Mr T, (and possibly elsewhere) so the timing is right for those.

Carboot, have you tried Project Gutenberg for your missing Hardys?

Thanks, Cherry:T. Yes, I have and located several elusive ones there:j. Problem is I find it difficult reading from screens after a while, I need the physical book in my hands:(. I don't own a kindle or tablet and just have the laptop. I have a cataract developing in one eye and whilst it isn't too much of a problem yet and at my recent eye test the optician said I was fine to keep driving for now:j I need to keep adjusting the distance at which I hold my reading material:(

  • Today is food shop day. I'll probably have to spend £70 rather than £60 now DS3 is home. More food is disappearing and there were no clean knives or forks this morning .

DH and I will buy the Christmas food in a separate shop as I can't cope with doing both on the same trip. The thought of handing over more than £100 would kill me :rotfl:.

After that I'll be doing some present buying and organising :xmassmile.

It's chucking it down with rain, cold and gloomy. DH and DS1 have gone for a back to work interview for his ESA. I can't imagine anyone less capable of work than DS2 at the moment, but hopefully if his ADHD is diagnosed he will get treatment which will help.

Which reminds me, we got sent some medical forms to fill in for DS1 re the ADHD assessment but we don't understand them, so I need to ring them up.

    Another job for this afternoon!

So pleased for you HH on getting paid for Xmas, no one deserves a good Christmas more than you . Plus not sure if I said how wonderful the news is on your training course.

I am sweltering in the heat of the evening, but enjoying it because soon I will be freezing .

That's brilliant news about getting paid, and lovely that you can now get organised for Christmas :T :T :T

I am also a re-reader of books, but I only keep those I really love, not just ones that I liked. I can pick up ones I want to re-read later on from the library or cheap at the boot sale. I do find I get a lot more out the second time.
