  • I have volunteering this morning (thank goodness).

This afternoon I want to write in the birthday cards, buy two £10 Am@zon vouchers to print and enclose and post them first class. The first birthday is tomorrow . I also want to wrap up my childhood friend's Christmas present and post that.

After that I should do laundry and vacuuming if I can face it.

I hope everyone has a good Thursday.

Re slow payers, all public sector including LA have prompt payment targets after which you can claim both interest and, in some cases, compensation. Check out their website for this and follow up as it won’t be a cash flow issue for them. Also have a look at the prompt payment of commercial debts legislation though I get you need to balance cash collection with the risk of driving customers away.

  • It didn't help that as I was cleaning a glass bottle full of yellow sand, I discovered it was leaking and yellow sand got everywhere . So I threw it away and had to clean his desk and everything on it again .

I hope the sand wasn't some precious souvenir of somewhere like his Iceland trip:eek:. I was always bringing back interesting (to me anyway:o) stones and containers of unusual-looking sand from my travels. I should have been a geologist:rotfl:

As for cleaning his room, you'll probably never have to do it again. After looking after himself at Uni for a term I expect he's learned how to keep his surroundings clean and tidy:j
  • amazing shopping trip. I wish that I had that kind of will power. x
    September 2017 Debt = £25330

    Starting afresh.

  • Do you have a wilkos near you,I buy pillows there as they are cheap and last well

    Snap, Onebrokelady, so do I:T:j

Supermarkets often have bargain ones too. Have you tried Tesco or wherever else you shop for other things?

I'm glad your shopping day was so successful (apart from the pillows) and that you feel better for a change of scene:beer:. I'm sure your friend will love her gift, it's certainly the kind of thing I'd really appreciate getting anyway. It was a nice extra bonus to find something that won't cost an arm and a leg to post too:j

Hope you've enjoyed your day, HH. Will you have the opportunity to see the concerts, plays, nativities or whatever the children are doing?

Feeling very glum today as I had an email this morning from the creditor who turned down my original offer and who I'd asked for an idea of what they would accept. Took them over 3 weeks to reply to my original offer letter but after speaking to someone on the phone earlier this week he promised to get back to me within 48 hours with a possible counter offer. I wasn't holding my breath but he was true to his word:j. Sadly, their offer was a reduction of only 35% (65% payable by me). No way! I phoned again to see if we could meet somewhere in between but they wouldn't budge:(.

It's silly really as by repaying them at £1 a month (which I'm doing now for as long as I can;)) or even a bit more it would take over 100 years to pay it off in full:rotfl:. Their loss.

We're not doing any work for the council currently, thank goodness. This is the problem, if you get too heavy handed about debt collection you can drive customers away as you say :(.

The sand wasn't precious luckily, just part of an ancient toy. I suspect DS3 will be delighted to have a break from cleaning and will slob out at home :rotfl:.

Thanks Nicnack :). I think it's more knowing that if I overspend we can't afford to buy food next week :o.
