  • £1 interesting survey on PA atm.
  • I am also easily pleased: shower gel, bath foam, chocolate, earrings from Thailand via eBay (astoundingly cheap!!), books - any of these & I'm delighted.

I saw the Pain clinic doctor on Wed - apparently I got dropped off the system, which is why I've been waiting for treatment since May 2017 ! And now my treatment is one of those on the 'banned' list since June this year - the doctor is more committed to making people's lives bearable than adhering to NHS rules, but at any moment he may be completely scuppered.

I hope you can get some effective pain treatment sorted out very soon, Elizabeth. Constant or even infrequent pain can be so debilitating especially when you have a young grandchild to have fun with.

My ideal Christmas (or anytime) gifts would be book tokens rather than the actual books themselves. I have pretty eclectic tastes and being a bit of a book magpie have often already read what people give me:( as I often pre-order new releases by my favourite authors from the library. I'm also very happy to receive hand cream, not the girlie stuff but something more heavy duty. My hands seem to be constantly in water and not getting on well with rubber gloves I frequently have very rough, chapped hands:eek:. I sometimes get nicely perfumed hand cream gifted to me but I need to use such a lot of it to have even a small effect.

Unfortunately, HH, stress is notorious not just for making you feel unwell, but also lowering your immunity. Thank goodness you got the flu vaccine. Let's hope the postman is kind this week.

DD2 and DGS round yesterday - we made cookies ! He is getting really good at mixing, and knows where everything is in the kitchen - in fact, he knows more than DH !!

It seems we're all quite easily pleased when it comes to Christmas presents, I notice chocolate features a lot :).

That's bad that you got dropped off the system, I hope the doctor can find somethings that helps you.

I know what you mean Carboot. I've read a lot of books too, so vouchers are always welcome.

  • Stepdad has decided not to come for dinner either but to take a sleeping tablet and go to bed early. We've defrosted a chicken but DH and the DC can eat it.

I still feel a bit meh. I'm bored but feel too tired to do anything. I'm worried about stepdad I guess. At least I managed to clean out the furry moron earlier so he looks a happy bunny now.

Maybe I should find a new book to start. I finished 'The Beautiful Dead' by Belinda Bauer yesterday and it was very good and quite absorbing.

Thank you OBL that's really nice of you to offer. I've got a feeling my relatives may have read the Dan Brown already as most of them are readers, so I was going to look for something a bit unusual that they're unlikely to have bought for themselves, iyswim. I really appreciate the offer though :).

I think I'm just tired. A restful day will probably do me good.
