Thanks Redo.
I went for my Saturday ramble this morning. I met my stepdad for coffee first as he was going to some friends' house for lunch. Then I looked around the charity shops and found a couple of books. 'Twice Shy' by !!!! Francis in hardback for £2.50 from the market and 'Dead in the Dark' by Stephen Booth for £2 in the W0rks. We only needed cheese which was £1.80 and grapes for £1 from the fruit stall. So not too spendy a day.
When I got back I cleaned out the furry moron, did some laundry, cleaned the sink and packed away some more summer clothes.
I also found some nice photos of my mum and put them to one side to put in an album. I felt really sad to see photos of the family outings we used to go on with my mum and stepdad, my sister, and all the children. Now my mum and sister have died and the children are all grown up. Do you ever wish you could go back to a time in the past and just stay there? Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Such an interesting thought, and in some ways tempting. I'd love to go back to my 40's when I was really fit & nothing hurt, but I'd have missed so much. For instance, yes, I would still have my parents, but not my grandson.
Perhaps what would be wonderful would be just a day in the past !0 -
In my case 2007 was a particularly happy year for me. We went to on holiday to France with my mum and stepdad, and my three DC, and shared a gite. It was one of my best holidays ever.
Anyway I must try to focus on the people I still have, like DH, the DC, my stepdad and my surviving sister. It's no good looking back, although it's hard not to sometimes. I get melancholy when I'm tired. Now you see why I daren't drink alcohol at the moment, I'd be crying into my cider if I did.
In other news DH got me two packs of diet coke from Asd@ today, so I won't have to buy any for ages. Thanks for the tip Beanie. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Perhaps I'll feel a bit differently if I ever have grandchildren Elizabeth. It must be lovely. None of my children have got a partner at the moment, so grandchildren could be a little way off! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
