Hope the volunteering went well. We have a farmfoods near us that is always doing deals on coke either bottles or cans, might be worth a look?

I buy the Aldi Diet Coke and as long as it's been in the fridge it's quite nice but I don't like room temperature drinks xx

I have done as Beanie suggested and done a coke order before from Asda. I've bought a couple of boxes. If I needed to spend anything else, I've bought cupboard items or cleaning stuff. I like to pick my own fresh stuff.

Thank you all. I should try Ald! coke to see if I like it and have a look at Asd@ for possible bargains.

The volunteering went well. I don't know why I was dreading it so much. Children are lovely at infant age, although this new class needs a lot of help!

No one mentioned my mum, which was lucky as I might have cried if they had :o. Anyway I offered to go in tomorrow morning too, because I had started doing two mornings before my mum died.

Thank you Dora. The volunteering was enjoyable and I seemed to slot back in. The staff are very nice which helps.

We have a F@rmfoods not too far away which I've never been in, so maybe I should pop in to look for cheap coke next time we pass it.

Glad the volunteering went well , children are a great distraction and comfort. Can't help with the Diet Coke tips as I don't drink it ! .

I know my son in law has Aldi coke in the fridge and the proper stuff , he alternates between the two . Worth a go trying one then the other .

Glad you enjoyed volunteering. I've never found a coke that I could tolerate other than the real stuff x

I've tried that myself a couple of times when the bottles were on a really cheap offer but found it went flat before the bottle was half finished even if I screwed the cap on as soon as I'd poured it:(. I don't drink it very often though, a bottle would last me well over a week. Maybe it wouldn't have gone flat by the time HH was near the end of a bottle.
The bottles do go flat quickly unfortunately, which is a shame as they are much cheaper. I'll keep an eye on Amazon. Asda isn't very near to me unfortunately. I think I could probably (hopefully) cut down to two cans a day if I really try.

We use a fizz keeper which is a pump you screw on the bottle to keep it fizzy for longer. Costs about £7 from amazon but sometimes supermarkets do them cheaper

You're right Cumbria that children are a distraction and a comfort.

  • I'm going volunteering at the school again this morning. My back is still sore after yesterday, so I need to try not to lean over small desks so much today. I'll have to try and crouch or kneel down instead. It's that tiny infant furniture!

DH is up early to go business networking this morning, in an attempt to reach new customers.

Yesterday afternoon DH and I did some work on my new business and made some significant progress, so I was pleased with that.

It's a grey misty start this morning so I hope it brightens up later on.
