Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

@nicnak It's very easy to lose things but so frustrating.

Yesterday I went for my park walk in the morning which I enjoyed, but around lunch time I was suddenly hit like a ton of bricks with a wave of exhaustion . I felt shattered for the rest of the day so went to bed early.

I felt much better this morning. I did my weekly Mr T shop and only spent £71.50 so not bad :T. It will be interesting to see how long the food lasts with just three of us in the house. It's been feeling weird cooking for three instead of five, but tonight I had to cook for only two as DS1 is at a friend's house. I didn't know what to cook . I think that's the first time since we had kids that DH and I have been alone in the house for dinner.

I've been coming down every morning to a tidy kitchen and the DW has only been going on once a day since DS2 and DS3 went on holiday :rotfl:.

DS2 and DS3 seem to be having fun in Iceland but are being slightly cagey about their activities. Should I be worried? :eek:

We managed to pay our national insurance bills today so that felt good :T. The next target is to chip away at the vat we owe .

I'm trying not to worry about them Beanie. I know Iceland has a very low crime rate.

I went for my park walk this morning and enjoyed seeing all the wild flowers and blossom on the trees. It's always a good start to the day .

Since then we've been working. It's so quiet in the house that it's uncanny.

I didn't have volunteering today because it's half term and I am feeling very stir crazy . But we've decided to give ourselves an afternoon off tomorrow as we had a bit of a carp bank holiday weeked stressing about DS2 and DS3. We thought we'd go to a NT place and if it's raining we can just do the house, shop and cafe. I hope it's dry though as it would be nice to see the gardens too.

We seem to have a reasonable amount of work on at the moment which is very pleasing. We even managed to pay the smaller of our VAT bills today :T.

My mum and stepdad are flying to Scotland today for my niece's wedding and most of my other relatives are going too. I feel a bit glum about missing all the excitement, I'd love to have had an excuse to buy a nice dress, see family and party . But we couldn't afford to go so that's that .

At least it's nearly the weekend, even if it has started to rain. Sorry for a whiny post . On the plus side my cold is almost better :T.

Thanks Abba . Yes my niece understands, I'm just sad that we're missing it. There's always something lovely about a family wedding.

Sorry about the wedding. They really do get expensive when you add up clothes, gifts, travelling etc.

Enjoy you tidy kitchen and less cooking, it will soon be back to normal! x
