My father, during a holiday in France, once had to go into hospital aged approx 85. No less than THREE nurses asked for his false teeth, even going so far as to tug gently on the top ones. His protestations that they were all his (in basic but understandable French) were met with incredulity. Obviously he was a senile idiot !!!
Then they checked with my mother - whose French is better !
And my father didn't have any dentures until over 90. No gaps either.0 -

Re. the comparison issue - speaking as someone who has spent most of her employed life working with and for some very rich people, I can honestly say that monetary riches doesn't always bring happiness. None of us would want to spend their lives on the real poverty line, but looking back over the years at some of the wealthy colleagues/employers I have worked with I have seen drink related issues, numerous divorces and re-marriages and children that have gone totally off the rails with drugs and other problems, even though they have been given privileged educations and expensive consumer goods.
I'm glad to read that you may have some good business opportunities coming up Hairy and OH is very positive too. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Thanks for your positivity SSG
. I'm not sure if either of the opportunities will work out, one seems more remote now but fingers crossed for the other one.
I know that positive action will usually be followed by positive change but sometimes it's hard to remember that.
Today we've got a fair amount of work done, but it never feels like it's enough. I did get two PA surveys and one YG survey. I'm nearly up to £10 on PA so will cash out when it tops that amount.
Our emergency fund has been dwindling as we've had to dip into it to pay bills. We had to use it to buy six months car tax yesterdayand tomorrow I'll have to spend the rest of it on food
. However we are owed some money by a few customers so hopefully at least one of them will pay us tomorrow.
The weather has been a weird mixture of sunshine and showers today.
I hope everyone has been having a good Tuesday.

Thanks Beanie

I forgot to say that I did my park walk this morning and saw some lovely bluebells and a cute squirrel. I've also put drinking more water.
I've been doing some stress eating recently and have decided that I need to do more exercise to help with the stress and I need to hydrate more, as being thirsty can make you want to eat more. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Bit late to the party so to speak , with your friends . My 4 closest friends who I have known since I was 4 have all done way better in life than me . They all have homes paid for , probably early retirement. One has their own business . However I can't say they are all happy , whereas me I have no money , but I have an amazing family , a roof over my head and food on the table.
Hairy you have a DH who sounds great and 3 lovely DS . As my rich friend says money only makes misery more acceptable.
Good to hear your business has new connections . Have a great BH weekend , hope you get out somewhere nice and that the weather is kind to you. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Thanks Cumbria. It's hard not to compare yourself with friends but I know I'm lucky to have a lovely family.

It's human nature to compare yourself to other people. They may look at you and envy the fact you are happy !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
