  • Feeling really chipper at the moment because I had an email yesterday saying Morrisons supermarket is now delivering in my area:j.
The delivery is free until the end of June, no doubt to attract new customers, so I might as well take advantage of it. In fact, I've already done my first order to be delivered Thursday morning:j. The only downside is that I can't pick up any reduced/yellow-stickered items but when I go in they never seem to have any that I want anyway:(

I'm a big fan of supermarket delivery. If you are in a position to choose the cheapest times, it's can cost less than than the petrol; you have a running total so it's easier to stick to a budget; a 'favourites' list helps ensure you don't run out of anything vital; and sometimes they do an annual delivery pass for half-price (like the one I'm using with ASDA atm).

I do shopping scanning for Shop'n Scan & Nielsen - the former pays in Amazon vouchers.

I do Shop and Scan too, elizabeth:T. It isn't onerous at all is it and the points quickly add up. I'm just one week's codes and till receipts short of reaching £20 so might redeem for Amazon vouchers then. Sadly, they don't offer a Paypal/BACS option and none of the other retailers' vouchers interest me. I know though that if I get Amazon vouchers I'll only spend them on my book-buying addiction:o. I'm so weak:eek:

It's probably me who's the odd one because I get hot really easily and wear sandals from May until September usually :rotfl:. Mind you it's probably warmer in Devon than where you live as we benefit from the gulf stream.

I'm the same as you with regard to sandals Hairy. I'm back in boots today as the weather has turned cooler and we might be in for rain today, but I can't wait till it gets warmer in May - the sandals will worn then till autumn!:D

I totally agree with that! This weekend I sold lots of oddments and mismatched sets of everyday crockery. Several people told me that they wanted it for their caravans. I suppose if it's only to last for one summer and then be replaced it doesn't matter what it looks like. Nothing worse on holiday in your own place than having to be extra careful and forever worrying about breakages.

I hope your sale was successful and enjoyable:beer:. I love car boot sales (you'd never guess that from my username would you:rotfl:), whether selling or just mooching around as a buyer.

We love them too. I have a house full of clutter (impulse buys) which demonstrates it :rotfl: I have got much better recently about not buying as much though.
I've never sold at a car boot sale before. It's the getting up early that puts me off. I should attend a few to buybooks though :rotfl:

    Thanks Wannabe :)

There are a few afternoon boots in Devon, Exeter Racecourse on a Sunday (11am start for sellers), and there's a Saturday afternoon one somewhere near Exeter too which I can't remember the name of. ;) I know there are others around the county as well, but we've not been to them. I think there's a couple around Barnstaple as well.

  • Feeling really chipper at the moment because I had an email yesterday saying Morrisons supermarket is now delivering in my area:j. It's been a very long time coming, Asda, Sainsburys and Tesco have been delivering in our neck of the woods for years. I had some home deliveries from Sainsburys when the weather was bad, I couldn't face the drive:o. Morrisons is my favourite supermarket though and I kept wishing they'd get their act together as far as delivery goes.

Although I have a car it isn't always convenient getting to a Morrisons for my big monthly shop. Our local one (round trip of 15 miles) is pretty small (although it's a proper supermarket not one of the local or express type) and if I want to see the full range of what they sell, such as the household stuff and other non-food items, it means a round trip of about 32 miles to the nearest big one:(.

Very exciting news Carboot re Mr M deliveries :T.

I do an online shop if I can't get to the supermarket, but I prefer to actually go in person because online deliveries come from our closest supermarkets which are small and have a very limited range. I prefer to visit a massive Mr T superstore about 20 minutes drive away which has a huge range of value foodstuffs, plus clothes, homewares etc. I can buy almost anything I need there. But if you can't get to a store than home deliveries are a godsend :).

    Thanks both :).

I did my weekly Mr T shop today and it was only £4 over budget at £84.19 (and that included a storage box and two dinner plates) :T. We've got six nice cereal bowls and six dinner plates now, so may start collecting side plates next :).

We got a good amount of work done included sending a reply to a possible new customer :T plus I got a £1.03 PA survey.

The forcast said rain today but we had two showers and it's been sunny apart from that.

Hope everyone is having a good wednesday :).
