Sounds like you and your friends had a great time, which is what it is all about. Loving The Coffin Trail so far .
The sun is out here now , the best it's been all day.
Glad you like the book CumbriaGlad you had a great time.
I wear jeans all the time but 3/4 ones in summer.
I have different tops/cardigans for winter & summer times.
I have dire dire legs so they very rarely get an outing though I do have a couple of summer dresses.
I got my summer wardrobe out of storage I but may need to put it away again now :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I have a copy of Double Indemnity somewhere but never read it because I loved the film of it with Barbara Stanwyk in so much. I have Double Indemnity on DVD and have seen it about 5 times now. One of the few films I can watch more than once. I never read the original book once I've seen a film based on it:o. I think I might go against trend this time and try to find it and read it.
Sounds like your weekend was perfect:j, apart from feeling tired of course. Good company, lovely food, bargain books and lovely OH painting the ceiling and doing the ironing. I'm green with envy:o
DH doesn't seem to mind ironing but I hate it. I loved the Double Indemnity film too so I'm looking forward to reading the book.
carbootcrazy wrote: »Just a quick update on my car boot sale yesterday. It was excellent in every way, even the weather was ideal (for me at any rate) as it was hot without being baking and there was a pleasant breeze that wasn't skittish or strong enough to blow things all over the place:j. It was really cold though at 5.30 in the morning:eek: and still dark when I was setting the stall out and the grass underfoot was very wet and dewy. Things soon improved though and it was a very pleasant few hours sitting on my folding chair in a lovely field in the country, enjoying the banter with the buyers and, more importantly, clearing some clutter and making some money:j.
It never ceases to amaze me what people will buy, a lot of my offerings were total junk:o. Things that had been back and forth to several car boot sales last year, then pushed to the back of the shed to be got rid of 'someday', and had been unearthed, cleaned up and put on sale again.
I made £188.40 after pitch fees which was one of my best results for ages:j. I think it was a combination of the good weather and the fact that being so early in the season the buyers haven't become jaded and blase from weeks of trudging round car boot sales. I also sold quite a lot of books:T (sorry, HH, I know that's something you'd never do;)). I was intending to drop them off at a couple of charity shops fairly local to me last week but both have signs up saying they don't want any more book donations for the time being:eek:. I sometimes sell second hand books on Amazon but a lot of these were very popular ones with lots of copies already for sale on there being offered for a few pennies. It wasn't worth doing it after fees were deducted.
I still seemed to bring a carful of bits and bobs home with me though, but I guess it's because everything is carefully boxed and packed in the car on the outward journey but shoved in any old how in the rush to clear the site at the end. I'm always one of the last sellers to pack up and leave anyway and the site owner is practically standing at the gate jangling his padlock keys by the time I drive through:rotfl:
That's amazing well done :Telizabethhull wrote: »That's an amazing result, well done you !
I agree with you about what people will buy - you simply can't predict. We once sold several of hubby's really old physics text books. I had said there was no chance, then this rather shabby-looking guy says he's thinking of learning all about physics and the books would be wonderful. Had to eat my words didn't I.
I too have distinct wardrobes, with kimonos over the summer tops when it's a bit chillier. I bought my first ever pair of jeans last year - finally found a pair with a loose cut, and soft denim, loathe tight clothing. Not very keen on blue either, but these were ok.
I like denim with a bit of stretch, much more comfortable and no baggy knees. You can get different colours in denim now which you may prefer to blue. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Glad you had a good weekend
I don't have 2 wardrobes, I wear the same clothes all year round, just more layers in winter.
CBC - glad you had a good boot sale. We were selling this weekend too. I agree about people buying the tat. We always sell the things we don't expect to, and then come home with the things we thought would fly out!carbootcrazy wrote: »I totally agree with that! This weekend I sold lots of oddments and mismatched sets of everyday crockery. Several people told me that they wanted it for their caravans. I suppose if it's only to last for one summer and then be replaced it doesn't matter what it looks like. Nothing worse on holiday in your own place than having to be extra careful and forever worrying about breakages.
I hope your sale was successful and enjoyable:beer:. I love car boot sales (you'd never guess that from my username would you:rotfl:), whether selling or just mooching around as a buyer.
I've never sold at a car boot sale before. It's the getting up early that puts me off. I should attend a few to buybooks though :rotfl:WannabeFree wrote: »Hope you have a good day HH

Chuffing cold & very dreich here today
It's a lot cooler here but with sunny spells.
I still feel tired today believe it or not. Another early night needed.
I was sat at my desk working all day today, so was physically resting at least. I got a YG oracle survey today (if only I'd win) and 10p PA survey. It's going to take me a long time to get rich this way .
I've given up diet coke (again). It will save me £6 a week and I'm going to put that amount in my Emergency Fund every week that I stay strong.
Hope everyone has had a good Monday so far (I'm not a fan of Monday's ).Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

There were five good reasons for me to give up diet coke:
1. Money (I was drinking 3 cans a day and it was costing at least £6 a week).
2. Caffeine (I was getting really tense from all the caffeine).
3. Weight (I watched a science/health programme that said fizzy drinks increase your appetite, even fizzy water).
4. Bloating (I don't think it was doing my digestion any good).
5. Teeth (fizzy drinks are very acidic and as I can't afford to go to the dentist I need to take care of my teeth).
I also have plenty of other vices including being addicted to cups of tea and my weekend cider . Although I'm trying to manage my chocolate addiction by only having it on special occasions :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
