I think I'm a bit further away from the airport than Cumbria but happy to help where I can. We aren't that far away.
Can always make room for an overnight if needed

Thanks Cumbria that's really kind of you. He should be okay as Virgin should find him a hotel room as the cancellation was not his fault. Or worse case scenario he can probably stay with my niece who lives on the outskirts of Manchester, but I really appreciate the offer
.

The roads here are ok, unless your relative lives up Rochdale , Oldham way . Also bury areas , other than that it's just windy. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I know over the tops near Rossendale are still quite bad, our family have cancelled on DS.
However where I am the main roads are pretty clear. School has closed today but personally I don't think today is as bad as during the week when they've stayed open
I'm sure it will work out but you know there's help local to him if needed

Thanks again both of you.
My niece lives in Stockport. I'm not sure where that is in relation to Manchester Airport?
But he should be eligible for the Virgin Care Package as the cancellation is not his fault. So Virgin should get him a hotel room and give him food, drinks, etc.
He's texting DH with his American sim at the moment. He's a bit worried, so DH is telling him to go to the Virgin desk and find out what they can do for him. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Oh good that's handy. Still hopefully Virgin will find him a hotel.
DS2 is worried but I'm sure they'll sort him out if he goes to the right desk. He's gone quiet so hopefully he's taken DH's advice. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
