Please don't rush to get back to normal though, getting completely over the flu often takes a long time. When I was much younger I had a really bad dose and had already had to take 2 weeks off work (with a Doctor's note). I was desperate to get back and thought I could manage and went to the Doc's on the Monday morning for a signing off note (needed before I could go back to work). I was young and really fit in those days and the Doc's was only about half a mile from my then home and I thought the walk there would do me good. I was so exhausted that I had to keep stopping to sit on people's low garden walls:eek:. I couldn't believe it, I'd really thought I was better as I'd been pottering about in the house earlier. Needless to say the Doc took one look at me and signed me off for a third week. I was so annoyed and shocked but he said real flu takes a lot of getting over. Not sure my work colleagues were too sympathetic though, they tended to call a normal cold the 'flu'. No comparison whatsoever.
I'm glad news from the USA is good, that must be cheering you up a lot. Sending hugs and a nice hot drink your way:kisses3::coffee:
Thanks Carboot

I folded up some clean washing for DH this morning, but I reckon that will be it for the day apart from a shower
.
I feel so exhausted and the slightest thing brings on a headache and feeling light headed. I've got the most horrible taste in my mouth and I'm coughing up unmentionable stuff.
I've been trying to decide which is worse, flu, appendicitis, or childbirth. Flu lasts longer so may be winning at the moment!
It's ten days since I was struck all of a heap, but the only good side effect is that I've had ten NSD (I haven't left the house), ten AFD and ten CFD (although I'm not trying to give up caffeine, I just can't face it atm).
I'm pretty sure I've lost weight as I could only manage a handful of grapes the first two days and my appetite is really small at the moment. I get hungry, but then feel full up after a yoghurt or some grapes. I can't face weighing myself at the moment, but losing weight could be the only silver lining in the flu disaster.
I hope everyone else is okay. I'm looking forward to catching up when I feel less headachey and tired. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
