Thank you everyone for thinking of me.

I'm starting to come out of the other side now. I've never had flu before. It was horrible. I was shivery, aches and pains, pounding headache and couldn't eat. I've still got a nasty cough, still got a headache but not as bad, and feel to tired to do anything. Even reading is too tiring and I feel light headed when I get up :(. But I'm a million times better than I was.

DH and DS1 have been looking after me very well, I'm so lucky to have them. They've been feeding me soup and grapes and not letting me do anything.

I think the only thing that's gone well for the last week is my diet. My only exercise has been coughing :(.

DS2 seems to be okay in New Orleans. He sent me a photo of a cat in a cemetry and he said he may go on a swamp trip next week.

DH is okay but tired, so I'll be glad when I'm well enough to do more. I sorted out some washing for him this morning but now I feel exhausted and my head hurts.

I'll catch up on everyone's diaries when I can read without getting a headache. I hope everyone else is okay.

  • So glad to hear you're beginning to feel better. Please don't rush to 'do things' too soon. You've been ill - you need time to recuperate. xx
  • So sorry you've been feeling ill, HH. Lovely to hear you are on the road to recovery:j.

Please don't rush to get back to normal though, getting completely over the flu often takes a long time. When I was much younger I had a really bad dose and had already had to take 2 weeks off work (with a Doctor's note). I was desperate to get back and thought I could manage and went to the Doc's on the Monday morning for a signing off note (needed before I could go back to work). I was young and really fit in those days and the Doc's was only about half a mile from my then home and I thought the walk there would do me good. I was so exhausted that I had to keep stopping to sit on people's low garden walls:eek:. I couldn't believe it, I'd really thought I was better as I'd been pottering about in the house earlier. Needless to say the Doc took one look at me and signed me off for a third week. I was so annoyed and shocked but he said real flu takes a lot of getting over. Not sure my work colleagues were too sympathetic though, they tended to call a normal cold the 'flu'. No comparison whatsoever.

I'm glad news from the USA is good, that must be cheering you up a lot. Sending hugs and a nice hot drink your way:kisses3::coffee:
