Glad that yoou enjoyed your wee trip.
Food for the soul.
Thanks beanie117pauline wrote: »It's good the three of you had some quality time away from the house.
I know it is hard to break those habits that have been around for years. everyone gets a role and they play it, often without even realising it. It's also easy for those outside the situation to "see" what is actually happening.
If you have time, have a look at articles by James Clear or Gretchen Rubin. They write quite a bit about habits. I have found it quite interesting to identify habits I have which aren't beneficial.
And lastly, we do things for the right reasons at the time. Remember that when you are mulling things over.
Enjoy your meal, take care honey
Pauline
I've read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin but haven't heard of James Clear, so I'll look out for those Pauline.
I do think tha the whole family benefit from having a clean tidy house and the others just don't appear to 'see' dirt or clutter that is screaming out at me .Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Happy Monday all
.
We need to be at the hospital by 9.00am  for DH's MRI scan and a scan of his throat? So need to leave earlyish. I won't have time for my walk today. I'm expecting it to take all morning by the time we've waited for the results. I'm going to take a can of coke with me to save buying too much paper cup coffee (love Wannabe's phrase :rotfl:).
It was cold in the night, and I can hear ice being scraped off cars outside. I think we'll need an extra blanket on the bed tonight.
I hope nobody is snowed in this morning and you all have a good day.

.
I'm a big fan of holidays from home. We once had elder daughter & SIL for a week. We did something cheap every day (a walk, a picnic, etc), and we chose in turn a comedy film to watch each evening (everything from Planes, trains & automobiles to The Lavender Mob!). Seemed really like we'd been away.
Hope you're not waiting ALL day today. Good luck.0 -

That sounds lovely Elizabeth. I think I'll copy your format for the evening comedy films. That would be a great stress reliever.

We were at the hospital from 9.00am until 12.30pm, so it could have been a lot worse.
DH had an MRI scan and ultrasound of the arteries on his throat. It turns out there was a slight abnormality on his brain scan, so he did have a TIA (mini stroke).
The neurologist said it was very minor, but was a warning sign. DH needs to take his blood pressure and diabetes tablets regularly, because he 'forgets' to take them sometimes, lose weight ideally and do more exercise.
I feel a bit guilty about my Saturday meltdownbut I get stressed too. I have tried so hard to remind him to take his tablets. Even if I remind him he sometimes forgets. I feel like I have to watch him swallow them.
Still I HOPE that he will look after himself better now, take his tablets regularly and go for more walks.
On the way home we dropped DS2's letter at the lettings agency (to terminate his lease), bought petrol (10p off a litre with our Mr T voucher :money:), and bought printer ink so we can print DS2's travel schedule, plane tickets etc.
This afternoon we want to get some work done and finish DS2's travel schedule. I also need to wash some clothes for DS2 to pack.
Hope everyone is having a more restful day than me .

Not a selfish meltdown at all, you cope with a huge amount.
Hope it is a work up call for him to take responsibility for his health rather than you trying to do it by stealth. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++
