I like a cold bedroom but always blast the bed with the hairdryer before I jump in just to take the chill off…..a heated blanket or hot water bottle would be too hot fir too long 😉January spends - £587.586

You’ve made me think and if I caught it isolating wouldn’t be an option because I’d still have to care for Mr SA. I suppose in that respect you’re lucky DH is able to bring you hot drinks.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

I can’t really isolate properly either as DS & DD are only 4 & 2, they wouldn’t understand and wouldn’t cope with it.I quite like a cool bedroom and often have the window open a bit on the latch. I usually close it when it gets to minus figured mind you. 😂 My mum always complains that it’s cold upstairs in my house.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. I like fresh air but I can't sleep if I'm cold. Hope you don't get any symptoms and can emerge (hardy and resilient) in a few days.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I was really interested to read all the chat about open windows in bedrooms and so on and I've just looked out and there's thick frost on the shed rooves and our cars
. A cold bedroom would be a nightmare to me. My fingers go numb very easily, not full-blown Reynaud's syndrome thankfully, but if they were already white/blue when I went to bed I'd never get to sleep. I always wear bedsocks all the year round and thin gloves in bed and around the house when possible but once my hands are cold after tooth-brushing and other pre bedtime essentials for which I can't wear gloves even the addition of gloves doesn't help much if the room is icy
. I too like to open the windows in the house for a while ( a pretty short while sometimes
) each day to ventilate and air the rooms but I don't think that will be happening until things warm up a bit here today.

Fingers crossed you stay asymptomatic too.
I sleep with an open window regardless of the time of year....Fidelia said:
I just want to say how I admire the way you're coping with the restrictions you're enduring at the moment and ensuring everyone in your family stays safe. I bet an awful lot of people are much more cavalier about how they handle their imposed isolation than you and your family are..
Thanks Fideliajwil said:Glad you are still feeling ok. Hope it stays that way
I also sleep with a window open most of the time. I open all the windows in the morning too every day to air the house, but they don't stay open that long at this time of year! I like a cold bedroom.
Thanks Jwil
What fresh air fiends we all are 😂. I want to stop DH catching it as he's vulnerable and sitting all day in a stuffy room is no fun, especially as there's no heating and single glazing in our attic, so opening the window clears the condensation a bit. I do have a high tolerance for cold though, and a low tolerance for heat. My ideal holiday would be Iceland or Sweden 😃.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

. It's not ideal, especially on the money front, but it can't be helped.

I'm on day 3 of self isolation. Apparantly the day of your positive test is day 0.
Typically we've had beautiful sunshine since I've been isolating (after days of mist and drizzle) so the weather is having a laugh at my expense. Fate is also having a laugh at my expense, as I finally get a full time job to solve our money problems and after five days of work I catch Covid. I'm losing five days of normal pay and five hours of overtime. I should get £97 SSP but I would have earnt a lot more than that in a week 😔. It's ironic that I caught it at work too 😞. I feel like life is kicking me in the head again.
I think self isolation would be easier if I felt ill, but here I am fit and healthy and confined to one room in my house. If DH wasn't so vulnerable I would probably be less strict but I don't want him to catch it. If I lived alone I could blitz the house with a cleaning spree but as I'm stuck in my bedroom my options are more limited.
Anyway sorry to moan. I think being on my own and not being allowed to be busy and active is affecting my mood this morning.
Anyway I'm going to work on my college assignment today and get that finished. That will probably take all day. Then tomorrow I could always clean and tidy our bedroom. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
