Wishing you well for the 'last lap' before the holidays. I hope the job-hunting is going well should nothing have transpired at your current school. Sending hugs whilst keeping my fingers crossed for you xxx
Just a thought, don't mean to intrude in any way but if money is still tight (with Covid etc having curtailed DH's income opportunities) have you thought of temporary work in the hospitality sector until a permanent TA job turns up? I know you wouldn't go down that route from choice but sometimes we don't have many other options. My DH didn't want to do it but had to resort to that for a second job during a very bad spell income-wise when our children were younger. He even enjoyed it once he'd got used to it. I know hospitality business owners are desperate for staff at the moment and Devon will be like where I am (Cumbria) for being dependent on hospitality services for its income. If you don't fancy it for yourself, how about your sons or DH? Worth a thought anyway.New Challenge: Tilly Tidy as much as possible in 2022. Running total to 26 Feb: £183.77

Hi everyone 👋. Thanks for all your lovely messages of support 🙂.
I've been having a busy and stressful time at school with lots of changes to deal with and challenging children 😒. I've finally broken up and I really need a break as it's felt like a really long term! The person I was doing the TA cover for was on upaid leave. They want to come back full time in September so I've lost my TA cover. The school has no budget to employ an extra person 😔. I've still got my MTA job but I need more hours than that, so I could either get another part time job or apply for full time jobs and give up my MTA job.
As I have long standing commitments to visit family over the summer I'm going to apply for jobs in September. I haven't seen my very elderly Dad for two years and my sister in Scotland has lost her husband a year ago and is very lonely so I need to visit her. I'm going to be flexible about what jobs I apply for although I would like to work with children. My kind stepdad has given me £500 to help with the costs of visiting my sister.
Some really good news is that DS3 has finished his degree and he got a 2:1 😁🎉🍾. He worked very hard and deserves his good result. His lease is up on his shared house at the end of August so DH and I are going to collect him tomorrow. As we have to help him pack all of his belongings we decided it was too tiring to go there and back in one day like we normally do, so we've booked a night in a cheap hotel. He's been applying for jobs but has had no luck yet. I've suggested he applies for JSA when he gets home so his savings get less eroded while he looks for work and so he can give us money towards his food. He is fairly flexible about what job he does and so I'm sure he'll find something soon. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Family visits are so important when many haven't seen relatives for ages, it will be so good to see your dad and sister.5
