Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I agree with you that Bristol would be an ideal area for your ds. It’s got an amazing vibe. We have stayed a couple of times en route to Cornwall. It’s far enough away for him to live an independent life but not so far away for him to be isolated from any family. I think you’re right about the importance of family members nearby. I know my dd loves the area she lives in and it is much nicer than where we live....but there have been times when she has wished she was closer to home.....but her life is down there now. She lived in London for a long time but once she settled down to have children.....the night life didn’t seem as appealing and she chose somewhere accessible to London for work but by the sea. So who knows - the calling of a quieter life for your ds could well return in time 🤞
I used to enjoy a lot of the training at work but I think the exception was when you had to repeatedly do the same training to tick a box each year and the last lot of training I had over zoom. We could have told the woman leading the training far more than she told us about techniques for dealing with SEND within a classroom. She gave us the idea she’d leaned everything from a book and never set foot in a classroom with a disruptive child.
Its so nice to be able to meet people again....even if it is outside still. But I’ve heard on the news it’ll soon be ok to hug....although I’ll be quite selective 👍 with my hugs I think😲 Glad you got to meet your family.
Have a lovely week in work...and try to dodge the kids with iffy tummies 🤢January spends - £587.588 -
So with you on your DS moving far away.
My biggest fear.

Hi Hairy,my DD2 is thinking of moving to Bristol at some point in the future, I'm hoping if she does move away this will be as far as she goes not for her sake but for mine,I don't care if it's seen as selfish,I want my children nearby 😀I haven't said this to her and never would but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Bristol is so easy to get to from here so visiting would be easy both ways and she also has friends in Bristol. It did make me laugh though because when I worked my night shift last week she spent the night in the house on her own and she told me she doesn't think she will like living on her own. She said she wanted me to move with her ,she I also looking at properties here so might end up buying locally 😊 DD1 lives a 20 minute drive away in the same county and I hardly ever see her though so I think it depends on the child and how independent they areOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1207
