Two years seems to have flown by , I hope you get your cake.Ouch to the scold , please take care of it , as I am sure you will. What's the up to date situation with university? I assume DS3 is home indefinitely now, so paying rent on a place and not able to live there which must be hard financially on some .Glad to hear your mums plants are all coming up , look forward to some more garden photos as the spring arrives .Enjoy your weekend .
. Yes DS3 is paying £500 a month for a house he's not allowed to live in. We'll take him back to uni as soon as restrictions allow, hopefully by easter at the latest.
Onebrokelady said:Wow It doesn't seem like two plus years since you started at the school Hairy, time has flown, Happy anniversary . I do hope a TA job does come up for you there as you have been so flexible and helpful to them since you have been there 😊
Ouch to the scald, think they are one of the worst burns to have, there are burn dressings on the market but I'm not sure if they are available from the chemist or if it's just something we have at work and I am sorry but I can't remember the name of the ones we have ( wound care is not my thing ) it might be worth asking if you are in the chemist at any and it's not healing well. I hate having burns and scalds but I seem to keep doing it. I bought a wound dressing in Mr M which seems to be working quite well and I'm going to change it daily after my shower. It seems to be letting the scald breathe whilst protecting it from dirt and knocks. I'll keep an eye on it. I need to build up a better first aid kit at home, so I bought two packs of wound dressings in different sizes, two bandages, some tape and some germolene from Mr M.
Fidelia said:Happy Anniversary, HHoD. Like others have said, time certainly flies. Enjoy your cake. Is DH making one? I think you mentioned that he bakes bread but I'm not sure if he runs to cake-making too. If you need to buy one it will be money well spent.
After life eventually returns to something approaching 'normal' I wouldn't be surprised if funds are found from somewhere to employ extra school staff to help pupils catch up on all the education they've missed. Might be good for your chances of a job, HH. I hope so, you deserve one.Neither of us make cakes so we'll buy one. There is some talk of funds to help children catch up with their learning, so I may suggest to the head teacher that they employ me with some of the cash 🤣.

Sun_Addict said:Wow two years since you started working at the school, it’s gone so fast. Burns are very painful, even a small one. I can’t begin to imagine how it must feel to be burned on a wider scale.
. I agree it doesn't bear thinking about!
Parkyp said:That’s a good point Fidelia has made I think they will have to throw a lot of money at education to help any children who have fallen behind. Fingers crossed 🤞. Yes I may suggest it to the head teacher 🤣.

On 25 February it will be two years since I started my MTA job at school
I definitely sympathise with the scald. DH managed to throw a mug of very hot soup over himself about a month ago, and he still has a big red mark, but fortunately no infection.
Have a good weekend.. It's very true that at school I've learnt to expect the unexpected 😀. Ouch to DH throwing hot soup over himself 😳.
Seasidegal58 said:Happy two year anniversary Hairy and I hope your celebratory cake is yummy!🎂
You've obviously found your career niche in working with children, even though you find the job demanding sometimes! I take my hat off to you when I've read some of your escapades at school!🤣. Still it's wonderful that you enjoy your job so much - and hopefully here's to a promotion in the not too distant future. 👍
I hope the scald isn't playing you up too much.. I do love working with children and quite like the unpredicability of the job. It can be infuriating and tiring but it's also amusing and interesting.

It's not my two year work anniversary until 25th February, but DH and I have agreed that we should definitely celebrate it then. It's good to find new things to celebrate. I also suggested to DH that we should celebrate our debt free anniversary every year as it's changed our lives for the better.
