Thanks MTG 🙂. It's awful doing it isn't it? The eight page form we have to fill in on the government website doesn't help 😡 Why can't they save our details instead of having to repeat EVERYTHING twice a week 🙄.
I had a phone call from an elderly friend (even older than me!) who told me she and her DH had their first jabs in early January and a definite appointment scheduled for April for the 2nd one.. Since then they've both had official letters from NHS inviting them to book an appointment for one but it told them to just ignore it if they'd already been vaccinated so they did. Then they had a series of phone calls on different days from different people at their Doctor's surgery asking them when they'd like to book their first vaccine appointments! You couldn't make it up could you? The receptionist told her that a lot of people who had been given vaccines hadn't been logged yet for some reason (my friend and her DH had theirs done in the first week of January). Makes the official Govt figures about how many have been vaccinated a bit of a farce. I take all the official Govt figures with a huge pinch of salt nowadays.

Parkyp said:Happy anniversary, can I asked what jobs you’ve had in the past and what made you do mta. You do always sound as though you enjoy your time at school even when the children are trying your patience 😁. Good getting your tax credits sorted- nice to know the bills will be paid. Enjoy the rest of your day .
As soon as I had my own children I knew I would love working with them, but I felt obliged to help DH run his business from home and it fitted in well with young children. I've never wanted to be an MTA as such. I started volunteering at school in the hope of being a TA, but the MTA job came up and I was encouraged to apply. Now I'm on the payroll I've been getting offered a lot of TA cover, especially since I've gained my TA qualifications and I still hope a permanent TA job will come up in time. I do love working with children even if some of them drive me potty at times 😃 .Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Wow It doesn't seem like two plus years since you started at the school Hairy, time has flown, Happy anniversary . I do hope a TA job does come up for you there as you have been so flexible and helpful to them since you have been there 😊
Ouch to the scald, think they are one of the worst burns to have, there are burn dressings on the market but I'm not sure if they are available from the chemist or if it's just something we have at work and I am sorry but I can't remember the name of the ones we have ( wound care is not my thing ) it might be worth asking if you are in the chemist at any and it's not healing wellOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1208 -
Happy Anniversary, HHoD. Like others have said, time certainly flies. Enjoy your cake. Is DH making one? I think you mentioned that he bakes bread but I'm not sure if he runs to cake-making too. If you need to buy one it will be money well spent.
After life eventually returns to something approaching 'normal' I wouldn't be surprised if funds are found from somewhere to employ extra school staff to help pupils catch up on all the education they've missed. Might be good for your chances of a job, HH. I hope so, you deserve one.

Wow two years since you started working at the school, it’s gone so fast. Burns are very painful, even a small one. I can’t begin to imagine how it must feel to be burned on a wider scale.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

That’s a good point Fidelia has made I think they will have to throw a lot of money at education to help any children who have fallen behind. Fingers crossed 🤞6

HairyHandofDartmoor said:I managed to scald my arm on the kettle at school on Monday and it came up in a blister which then burst so my arm is quite painful 😟 🤕.
On 25 February it will be two years since I started my MTA job at school
I definitely sympathise with the scald. DH managed to throw a mug of very hot soup over himself about a month ago, and he still has a big red mark, but fortunately no infection.
Have a good weekend.6 -
Happy two year anniversary Hairy and I hope your celebratory cake is yummy!🎂
You've obviously found your career niche in working with children, even though you find the job demanding sometimes! I take my hat off to you when I've read some of your escapades at school!🤣. Still it's wonderful that you enjoy your job so much - and hopefully here's to a promotion in the not too distant future. 👍
I hope the scald isn't playing you up too much. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
