Hi HHD
The trees and advent calendars are lovely. There was an article in a newspaper yesterday about whether your tree was classy or trashy - I'm very proud to say mine definitely comes under the trashy heading.
The classy ones look lovely but for me would have no sentimental value whatsoever and that's definitely a big part of my Christmas tree. I love getting out all the old decorations, especially the ones the DC's made at school and the ones I bought for them when they were younger. xx

The people who have themed decorations, throw out all their Xmas stuff annually. It not only makes me mad from a shocking waste point of view, but where are the little bits of tat your children made in nursery, somehow indestructible, but wonderful tangible pieces of nostalgia.7

I could never bin DD's homeade ones. Every do often I'll get rid of a couple but I have old favourites I've had for years. I love unwrapping them and remembering where I bought it from xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x6 -
I've had some of my Christmas decorations for years. I hate throwing them out, but don't always put the same ones out every year. Sometimes I think oh I'm trawling this old thing out again but then why not it's only once a year.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

My tree is definitely trashy TF2 as it's very eclectic 🤣. We used to take the children to a large garden centre each Christmas and let them choose a bauble for the tree, so those baubles have precious memories. We also have some baubles that DH and I bought before the children were born and some that have been given to us by firends and relatives, so our tree is full of memories for us. I do want new tinsel next year though as ours is getting a bit tatty, however tinsel is less individual. The advent calendar where you stick on the decorations we bought from Past Times when the children were small and the one where you put chocolates in pockets was a Christmas present from my old school friend from primary school 🎅.
Here are some close up pics of our eclectic baubles 🤣. I do yearn for a tasteful tree sometimes though. Perhaps everyone should have two trees, a tasteful one and a trashy one? 😁

Morning HHD
I know what you mean about yearning for a classy tree at times and once or twice I've tried to have a beautifully colour co-ordinated tree but then those sentimental decs always creep onto it so it ends up just looking the same as usual but with a set of 12 different coloured baubles

A trashy tree full of memories every time for me 🎄😂👍 Last year I made a felt decortation and put it on a Christmas card for each of my gks. They loved them. I intended making another this year but my pattern book is on the bookshelf and I can’t get to it because my kitchen contents are in front of it....I might still have time if I shape myself 👍January spends - £587.588

I love your decorations
I'm in the trashy camp too, I love seeing explosions of colour. The classy trees look lovely, but I'm not a fan of everything being one colour, and I'm not patient or talented enough to make mine look neat!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". This is the mini tree I normally have on my desk at work. It’s in the bathroom this year. Ticks both the trashy and colourful boxes 😂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)10
