I felt tired then so I found a niggly job I could do sitting down. DH has a phobia about buttons 🙄 and I've got three lovely stripey Kath Kidston cushions that used to belong to my Mum which have two buttons on each cover. As DH hates the cushions because of the buttons I took off the buttons, sewed up the button holes and sewed poppas on instead. I preferred them with the buttons on but they still look nice and at least DH won't be traumatised by them now 🤣. It's a job I've been meaning to do for ages so it's really good to get it done 🙂.5 -

Just typed a post and promptly 'lost' it. Grrr! I'll have another go..
I was fascinated to read about your DH's button phobia, HH. May I be nosy and ask if it's a full-blown phobia or just a dislike of buttons as, say, in decoration? In my professional life I encountered several people, mainly children, with a Velcro phobia. It was mainly because of the sound it made when anyone unfastened it. I never met anyone with a button phobia. I know the Velcro one caused lots of problems for the children's parents as so many items of clothing, shoes and other things use Velcro fastenings these days. If your DH has a real phobia I was wondering how he gets round having buttons on his clothing such as jackets and shirts. Sorry, I'm one of those irritating people who need to know the whys and wherefores of everything. (Embarrassed emoji).
Anyway, taking my curiosity a step further (obsessive, moi????) I just did a quick internet search and unearthed this. Might be of some interest to you and him.

https://www.news-medical.net/health/Button-Phobia.aspx. DH can tolerate buttons on smart shirts and jackets (maybe because they're fairly discreet and he does wear them for smart occasions, perhaps because his desire to look smart is stronger than his button repulsion) but he refuses to wear polo shirts or any casual wear with buttons and he hates cardigans with buttons, so I wear cardigans without buttons and mostly hoodies or jumpers as he's not a fan of cardigans per se. When he looks at something with buttons on it makes him feel repulsion, so it is a proper phobia I think, but I've no idea why he's got it 🤔. Thanks for the link. He's fine with buttons on stereos and round shapes like coins, so it is mostly clothes he has a problem with, but he's obviously not as bad as some people.
It is a strange phobia to have. I think my snake phobia is perfectly understandable, although I can't even look at pictures of snakes or see them on the tv without being repulsed which is less logical. I was reading a book with a snake on the cover recently and I had to make a paper cover for the book so I didn't have to see or touch the snake 🤣. But that is more understandable than a button phobia as snakes can be harmful 🤔.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I've had a good start to the day because I had to go to B00ts to collect DS1's prescriptions and last time I went I was in a queue for forty minutes 😡. But today I arrived at about 10am and there was only one person in front of me in the queue so the whole thing took about five minutes 😃.
It's a lovely sunny day so DH and I (and hopefully DS1 if we can drag him out) are going for a walk by the sea at some point today as it's only a short drive away and allowed now ⛱. Where we're going is fairly big so it should be possible to socially distance even if it's busy. It will be nice to go somewhere othere than school, a supermarket, or the local park 🌞.
Apart from that I'd like to do some more weeding in the garden and I've already put a wash on.
Have a good Thursday everyone 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hi HHD
Hope you managed to all get out for your seaside walk and didn't find it too busy. I'm another who was intrigued by the button phobia and how your DH works around it. Thank you for explaining
I only go into a couple of shops on my weekly outing and I've noticed the queues aren't as bad as they were at the beginning. I think we've all got into a rhythm of what to do and the initial panic of things running out seems to be over which probably helps. Have a lovely day. xx

I completely understand your DH, I've had a button phobia since I was a child. No idea why. My mum had a button tin and it was the equivalent of a chamber of horrors in my opinion. I particularly hate large buttons with 4 holes. If I see one on the floor I have to get someone to clear it away, I can't bear the thought of touching them or looking at them, it makes me feel physically sick.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7
