Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

As the weather forecast said 20 degrees and sunny today I've decided not to sand the bench today as it will be too hot in our garden with no shade ☀️. It should be cooler on Friday so I'll do it then. So today I'm catching up on general jobs around the house and garden. I've been for a forty minute walk in the park 🌳🌲, put some towels on to wash and I'm boiling the kettle several times to pour hot water on the patio weeds🌿. I also need to do dusting, getting rid of cobwebs around the ceiling and general tidying.
It was lovely in the park because I went before it got too hot 😎. I may not have a big garden but I'm lucky to live near such an amazing park.
Have a good Wednesday everyone 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hi HHD
I've not been on MSE again for ages but just wanted to pop on and say hope you and the family are all keeping well. Are you gearing up for calling the children back on 1st June? There was a list in the paper this morning of councils who've said schools don't have to open. I wonder if that list will grow over the next few days. It's gorgeous here today. Good thinking about getting out for your walk before it got too hot for you. xx

It’s a scorcher isn’t it - too hot for sanding benches - I was looking at sun shades myself last night and think I’m going to get an ikea patio one. It can go up against a wall - it looks like the one I saw in the shop last summer.....and they deliver. I just need dh to get on and build the decking area to level an uneven patch in the garden first to see how much actual space we have. Men - I’d have had it done by now if I knew what I was doing 😂😂 - I dread to think what damage I could do with a saw........we’ve been talking about doing this 2 years.....if it wasn’t so expensive I’d get someone in to do it. One day it’ll be done - if that’s my biggest worry life must be good 🤔😀January spends - £587.586

Great news about the grant, HHoD. Maybe the Government will extend it for a few months more as they are doing with furlough. Has your DS heard anything about his application yet?
Well done on finishing your assignment. Only one to go, the time seems to have gone really quickly since you started this level of your course. Probably doesn't for you though, having to do all the work LOL. Is there a further level or is that it now?

@Delichon Level 3 is the equivalent of A'Level and is as far as most TAs go to get qualified.
@teafor2 It's lovely to hear from you. My school is offering children one day a week and the HT wants smaller class sizes than fifteen for safety.
@milann You'd have definitely got that decking sorted by now.
@beanielou Thanks.
@Sun_Addict Thanks.
@elizabethhull Thanks.

I managed a few more jobs today. I emptied the kitchen bins. I pruned the clematis which was going a bit wild, pulled a few weeds out of pots and swept it all up. By then it was too hot to stay in the garden so I retreated indoors.
I felt tired then so I found a niggly job I could do sitting down. DH has a phobia about buttons 🙄 and I've got three lovely stripey Kath Kidston cushions that used to belong to my Mum which have two buttons on each cover. As DH hates the cushions because of the buttons I took off the buttons, sewed up the button holes and sewed poppas on instead. I preferred them with the buttons on but they still look nice and at least DH won't be traumatised by them now 🤣. It's a job I've been meaning to do for ages so it's really good to get it done 🙂.
After the sewing, which took about two hours, I had my shower, cooked dinner, put the dishwasher on and watered all the pots in the garden. I felt well and truly ready for a sit down after that. DH has also been working hard in the office all day so he is tired too. I'm pleased to get a few more jobs knocked off my to do list though 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
