I like the idea of an early morning walk too.
Have a good day everyone. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I've been thinking about early morning bike rides. Only around the village, but it's quite pretty down near the river & will build my bike-riding confidence back up to where it was before the winter rains.

Just followed ElizabethHull's tip about the best time to book an online supermarket delivery but no luck for me. Nothing at all from Sainsburys for the next 3 weeks.
The supermarkets have bookings slots for say, up to 3wks ahead. Given that all the possible slots for those days are taken, at midnight the slots for 3wks and one day come on line. Does that make better sense ? Better a slot 3 wks away than none.6 -
Hi everyone
. I hope those who were having trouble sleeping managed to nod off in the end. I've been sleeping really soundly and not waking up until 9am 😴 which is not like me at all, but my tummy bug has come back today so I must be tired because of that.
Food thefts are distasteful but I can't say I'm surprised 😡. Thieves target what is valuable and food has become a valuable commodity. During the World Wars crime went up, so society is no worse now. During a crisis cream rises to the top, but so does the scum unfortunately 😡. I think the vast majority of people are good citizens but the media mainly tell us about the morons 🙄
I've finally had a rota from school🎉🎉🎉. I'm working every lunchtime next week but then I have two weeks off. We have a three week rota that will repeat and I'm working on week B, but I get to be a lazy layabout on weeks A and C. It will be nice to see some of the children again and only working one week out of every three will minimise my exposure to the virus. I will also be working mainly in the fresh air and I will make sure some fresh air gets into the dining room 🍽. I'll tell the children they are not allowed to hug me or to hold my hand (I'll explain it's to keep them safe and not because I don't like them any more 🤣).
I'm still sitting around browsing the news and social media on my tablet, watching telly and reading my book. I feel very lazy but I still have a tummy bug and feel tired and lethargic. I haven't coughed since Sunday morning but I'm keeping my distance for DH and the DC just in case.
We're only allowed to go to local places for exercise now, so no Dartmoor for me 😥 but luckily I live near a lovely park so when I'm better I can go for daily walks there 🌳🌲. I can also walk to school and back every day on the days that I'm working.
I hope everyone is keeping well on this sunny Tuesday.

Glad you've got a rota sorted, at least while you're busy it'll take your mind off things for a bit. Do you think the upset tummy could be caused by stress? My mum used to suffer terribly with hers when she was worried. You've got a lot on your mind at the minute (mind you haven't we all).I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

. My tummy could be stress, but I did empty a sick bowl at school on Friday so it seems likely that I've caught a tummy bug from that.

Good that you know where you are with the work situation, HHOD. Sorry your tummy trouble hasn't cleared yet though.
It's a shame the Dartmoor walks are out. I hope they don't close your nearest park because people overcrowd it. It's such a lovely time of year with everything bursting into life and time outside, however short, really lifts the spirits doesn't it?. We're lucky in having a big reservoir within walking distance of our house. When we were younger we walked to it and then walked all the way round spotting the wildlife and watching the dinghy sailors and water-skiers. We even had a small dinghy ourselves there (DH bought it third hand and spent ages renovating it) but we sold it about 10 years ago. Someone was still interested in it even though it had had a hard life! I wish we still had it. Nowadays it's a bit much to walk there and then all the way round, especially as there are lots of steep steps to even get to the path round it. We usually just do part of the circuit and then double back or just go as far as the steps. If we really feel like walking round it to enjoy seeing the water we drive to it or cycle but it's a worry leaving our bikes somewhere safe. That will be our only option now though as i don't suppose we should drive to it even though it's nearer by road than footpath, only about a mile by car.7 -
Thanks Delichon
. I'm glad you've got somewhere nice to go for local walks. Our park is very big so hopefully they won't close it, as it would make the streets more crowded with people going for walks.
