Glad to hear that you will hopefully be able to go to a postponed party. It's all very aggravating, but we will see a lot more of this as the weeks roll on.
Speaking of loo roll, we also use Asda Shades, which is reasonable in price and perfectly good enough.
However, DD2 buys her loo roll supplies online a year at a time to save money (no idea where in her house she stores it all), so came round today bearing a gift - now that could be a really nice Mother's Day present !!!6 -

although disappointed not to see everyone of course, but mainly relieved!
Good news on the toilet rolls and other essentials that you managed to buy.
I hope you manage to enjoy a bit of relaxation today, ready for the week ahead. Thinking of your DH and his business and sending all good wishes your way. Even some mega companies that have been around forever are already feeling the effects of the pandemic and we are barely into the thick of it yet! Not a time to be involved in the hospitality and travel industry I think. We're not involved in that but our area is in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and is heaving with visitors from Easter onwards. A friend saw his farming business (in his family for generations) decimated by Foot and Mouth and to keep from completely going to the wall he had to diversify, one of his strings being converting some stabling to fabulous holiday lets which have won several awards. He told me only yesterday that lots of people have cancelled their bookings for a few months ahead and he has only 2 out of the 8 now booked over Easter which is normally a very busy time for him.6 -
Glad the party has been postponed, it makes your decision easier.

Yes a lot of things will be cancelled in the weeks to come I think. We've always found Mr T cheapest brand (spring fresh?) to be very good.

I'm very glad that we don't work in the travel or hospitality industries as they will really suffer in the weeks and months to come I think. DH works in a service industry though and we know from past experience that his business will be affected by a general down turn in the economy

We're at home today, just as well as it's been raining all morning 🌧 althought the sun has just popped out now 🌞. I've put a wash on and have ironing to do but apart from that I'm going to be relaxing to conserve my energy for the week to come at school.
On the news today it was saying that over 70s and at risk groups (like DH) will be advised to self isolate in the next few weeks 😱. It's worrying but sensible I think. DH could drive me to shops and stay in the car whilst I go in I suppose, or we can go for online deliveries. We need to collect DS3 in two weeks time but we thought if we go there and back in one day as usual and only go into the service station to use the toilets then it will minimise risk to DH. We can take all food and drinks with us thus saving money too. I think a lot of people will find their events/holidays, etc, disrupted in the weeks to come. It's not good news for people who work in hospitality or travel businesses 😥
I've just ordered a Chilly bottle for myself as it keeps hot drinks hot for 12 hours. It cost £20 😱 but I/ think it will save me a lot of money on buying lattes at NT places and when travelling on the motorway. DH said he doesn't need one as he likes his coffee lukewarm anyway 🤣 so our normal travel cups will suffice . The government say that self isolating people shouldn't even go out for walks but I think that walks in the fresh air if you keep a distance between yourself and others would be fairly low risk (not if you have the virus obviously, only if you trying not to catch it).
I hope everyone is having a good Sunday and haven't run out of toilet roll or pasta 😱🤣 .

Enjoy your Chilly bottle.I don’t like them. For me personally I don’t like drinking from the metal. I am very much in the minority as so many people have them. . My current travel mug is metal and I'm happy with it but it only keeps coffee hot for about two hours so not so useful on long journeys. I've ordered the stainless steel version because some of the reviews said that the patterns and colours scratch easily. Hopefully it will save me money eventually. I can use it in two weeks

If you save money by using the Chilly bottle it will pay for itself over time. Mr SA is practically self isolating now as he's worried about picking something up, his immune system is so rubbish, since the stem cell transplant he picks up everything going. I can't see the harm in DH going for a walk as long as he doesn't come into close contact with anyone or touch anything then washes his hands as soon as he gets in.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Hi Hairy, I watched a question and answer session last night and apparently if you are high risk and need to isolate it means you shouldn't go out for a walk anywhere, you can go out in your garden but only if it's big enough that you can keep a two metre distance from any neighbours 😟
