Hi HHD
Good to read that the wedding went well and you felt as OK as can be expected about the whole thing. Pay day and Pancake Day what could be better
Are you still covering the member of staff on a weekly basis? Just think how positive all this working and volunteering is going to look on your CV when you come to apply for a job. Have a lovely relaxing evening. xx

Thanks TF2
. I don't really like pancakes but I do love payday
.
Yes I'm still doing the TA cover until I'm told otherwise. I got a lot more money today than I normally get on payday which is brilliant. And yes it will look very good on my CV.

Happy Payday! Yay to getting a larger pay packet as well.
Great news about surviving the wedding, renewing NT membership and the premium bonds.

I love my NT membership too - we have the over 60s now though. Not sure what reduction it was but it was reduced.
Most of out TAs only work mornings - there’s 1 in most classes and a couple work afternoons too taking small intervention groups. LSAs usually work full school hours including lunch times. It’s quite funny as there’s a bit of resentment with some of the TAs who don’t see why we work more hours when a lot of them have been there years longer. There were several LSAs taken on together as one year group have a cluster of children with additional needs as the special needs school had no places left.....
You’ll finish your course before you know it and hopefully a position will turn up for you.
Make the most of your payday - bet it felt nice getting paid for the holidays - I always smile at that (but we still actually only get 4 weeks holiday plus bank holidays - the pay is averaged out and divided out across the year)January spends - £587.585 -
Oh, drat, I forgot it was Pancake Day! I love pancakes but DH isn't bothered either way. Might make some tonight though if the lemon I bought weeks ago hasn't gone mouldy or dried up.
I agree what others have said about your CV, HHOD. It will be brilliant when the time comes to need it although if your current school have any sense they'll appoint you straight away as soon as a permanent vacancy comes up and you won't have to apply for a post elsewhere.
Well done on the NT membership saving. I hope you all get plenty of pleasure from it this year.4 -

It's odd how differently schools are organised. What is an LSA and how is that different to a TA?
TAs at our school are all full time and work the same hours as teachers, except one who is part time. There is one TA per class apart from the part time one who is a floater. I have two small groups I work with first thing in the morning and then I'm class based until lunchtime, then after lunch I have two more small groups to work with plus some one to one precision teaching and then I'm class based again.
It's true that we don't get paid for our holidays, it feels like it does as they spread our pay across the year, but that's why we're so low paid 😥.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Well done on the NT membership saving. I hope you all get plenty of pleasure from it this year.. There's no guarantee that a vacancy will come up at my school in the next few years as there isn't much turn over of staff at my school and most TAs have been there for years. But if a permanent vacancy should come up then I'm sure I would stand a good chance.
We always get great value from our NT membership.
