Tonight was noticeably brighter - it’s good to see spring bulbs appearing. I just hope there’s not a harsh spell to scupper things.
    January spends - £587.58
  • I noticed how bright it was later too. I am able to let the rabbit have a run now in the garden before night time, which is great. x

    Starting afresh.

You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x
  • The extra light seems most noticeable in the evenings here. I'm not looking forward to getting up at (relatively speaking) the crack of dawn on Monday for my jury service. I had a dry run today to check the location and the distance from the bus stop to the court and it is pretty uncomfortable for me (not for any normal person !!), but I shall just have to lump it. My knees sting.

Great about the haircut, HH, I know you've said before it can get pretty unmanageable if left too long. I bet it looks really nice.
  • Always good to have a nice haircut:T. Great news that you feel so much better after yours:beer:

I agree about the lighter nights. We had the most amazing sunset last night too:j. It's still very cold though, lots of ice this morning on the car windscreens and the bird baths and drinking troughs:(. Gales threatened for the weekend so I'm not looking forward to that.

Sorry to hear the rest of the family have succumbed to the lurgy but good that you're feeling a lot better now. Touch wood DH and I have both managed to avoid getting one this winter:j although I've been a bit trepidatious after going to pick up DH's repeat prescription from the pharmacy at our GP surgery on Monday and having to wait for 15 minutes in a packed waiting room full of coughers and sneezers:eek:

I'm with you on the spring bulbs lifting the spirits:j. Our daffodils emerge very late here, absolutely no sign of even a shoot here yet:( but the big drifts of snowdrops everywhere I look in the garden are a joy to behold:j. We've let friends and neighbours lift loads of them in the past to plant in their own gardens yet they just multiply again to fill up any gaps:j. My favourites are the bluebells which have a lovely scent as well as brightening dull areas under trees. We never planted them, they were already there when we moved in decades ago but they've multiplied like mad. Wishing my life away wanting them to bloom again, it will be many a month before they do:rotfl:

Elizabeth, what a good plan to do a dummy run for your jury service:beer:. Wishing you an interesting 'case'. When I did it the trial was for a very complex financial fraud case. Really boring and it went on for almost 3 weeks:eek:. My employers were NOT very pleased. I wasn't very popular when I told them I'd be away about 3 days but I then had to keep phoning in and extending it:rotfl:
  • Ooh happy new haircut! Also right there with you on the increased daylight and spring bulbs too - isn't it lovely!

Elizabeth I LOVED my jury service - was absolutely fascinated by the whole process from the cases we sat on right through to just spending time people watching in the jury room. I am one of the rare people who got called back for a third week too (rather than a case running over which happens quite a lot) - albeit I was asked to do Coroner's court which is something I probably wouldn't do again. Very tough indeed.

What do people think of the new forum? I'm sad that I've lost my profile picture and ALL of my likes  :'(. The new empojis are a bit rubbish too compared with the old ones. So I'm not amazingly impressed so far  :(.

Also the writing is so small that I'm struggling to read it even with my reading glasses on  :#.

There's a cog on the top right hand side and if you click on that it says edit.
