Glad you took today off, don't go back until you're feeling better. Great news on the extra work though, hopefully you'll have picked up by Friday.
Re veggie recipes, take a look at the Jack Monroe cooking on a bootstrap website, she posts loads of cheap veggie recipes on there. There's also the Deliciously Ella and Thrifty Lesley websites. You could print off or copy out recipes. I follow them on FB too.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

As regards the Xmas decorations - what's wrong with leaving them up longer ? I believe I mentioned Candlemas last year, being the date on which some other Christian churches take decorations down, and the existence of which custom I use as an excuse for my own tardiness.
It is a custom that has waxed and waned over the centuries, but there exists a superstition that if you leave your decorations up after 12th Night, then they SHOULD stay up till Candlemas (2nd Feb) !!
Sending lots of virtual chicken soup and vitamins xxx
Thanks Elizabeth. I like to get the decorations down by twelth night because it's DS2's birthday in the middle of January and I like to separate his birthday from Christmas. Also I feel a bit sad when Christmas is over and having the decorations hanging about reminds me it's over. Once they're gone I get used to it and get back to my normal mindset.

Thanks Nicnak.
I am pleased about the TA cover as the money is very useful :T. January is often a lean time for us and with DH ill his ability to finish work and invoice for it will be hindered.
With regard to my health I'm wondering about kefir. I saw Trust Me I'm a Doctor a while ago and it concluded that kefir increased healthy gut bacteria, so I think I'll add that to my Mr T order next time in case it helps my immune system. I'm so sick of catching every bug going. Ye0 do a version made with organic milk and I'd like to try that one as it will have quality ingredients. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Sorry you’re ill again Hairy. I swear by vitamin d in the winter. So good for immunity. As for taking DS3 back, could you not roll his duvet and tie a belt round it then put it in a black bin liner? I’ve done that with my kids before. Might not look great but I expect it can go in the coach boot with the cases? Think of your and DH’s health. That is a very long drive when you’re both unwell. I would check insurance re couriers though as what is covered, if you were thinking of sending a computer. Does he have the original box and packaging for it?Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0

Thanks Arsenal. Unfortunately on Meg@bus you can only put one item in the hold or else they charge you extra. Also he'll have to carry it along with his suitcase, etc, all across London on trains and tubes to get to uni from the coach station.
We do have the original box for the tower of the computer but not the monitor. We'll have to wait and see how DH is.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Aren't any of your boys able to drive? You seem to have to chauffeur them here there and everywhere... including to the shops. Think it's long overdue for them to get their driving tests sorted, assuming they haven't yet passed, and get to stand on their on two feet.
You do a sterling effort in supporting and helping them as all good parents strive to do... but they are adult men.0 -
