Good planning and great news about the warm home discount. I wish I qualified for something like that. It would make life so much easier.September 2017 Debt = £25330

Have you checked your entitlements again recently Nicnak? I know you mentioned you had handed your notice in at work so it may be worth doing the calculator again if you haven't already done so. The eligibility can be a little confusing for the warm home discount and I think it can vary between suppliers but I believe you have to be in receipt of benefits along with other conditions, for example I qualify because I receive child tax credits and my annual income for my tax credits is below £16k.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0

Thanks, no, I still don't qualify! I keep looking and trying. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Still haven't managed to pull myself out of my low mood, I feel extremely isolated at the moment. Trying to just throw myself into my studying but its tough when I have so much going through my mind. Hopefully the counselling appointment at uni next week will really help. I've been writing down a lot of my thoughts which does help, it makes me feel like I have offloaded them somewhere.
Nothing new on the money front, just carrying on but no big spends so that's something, will need to take my car to have a new tyre at some point over the next week or so.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
Hoping counselling helps too. Keep writing it down in here as much as possible whether it be in here, or in your own journal, I am sure it will help.
I know you like to go introverted, which is my natural style too, but it doesn't always help. xxSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Thank you Nicnak, I do tend to keep everything in which just makes me overthink absolutely everything. I'm not entirely sure what to expect with the counselling, when I do open up I tend to end up in tears and then can't quite get my point across very well. Also because its counselling at uni I feel that it should be more about my studying than my personal life and maybe they will just refer me elsewhere if its not entirely about my studying.. Urgh why must I overthink absolutely everything.
I hope your appointment went well Nicnak, I will check in soon xChange the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
Updated the amounts I have in my pots above, they are looking quite healthy! I'm hoping that I won't make too much of a dent in the entertainment pot and then I can make an overpayment. Nothing else to report on the debt front. I'm happy that even though I have been away from here a short while I haven't gone off the rails with my spending.
I'm still not feeling entirely myself, I think the time of year plays a big part in it for me, I tend to want to hibernate over the winter so this on top of other things is making me feel extremely alone right now. I had my initial counselling appointment and opted for face to face person centred rather than CBT or the online course that they offered. I feel like I need to work on my communication skills and talking openly about the way I'm feeling so I think this will really help with that.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -

It seems that financially you're smashing it!
Looking after yourself is the single most important thing you can do for both yourself and your little one. You sound really clear on what you're hoping to get out of the counselling sessions and I hope it goes well for you xx2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Feeling so run down at the moment, been trying to keep on top of my finances whilst being poorly and trying to study, it has not been a fun couple of weeks at all! Will update properly once I am feeling better.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0
