I need to do this again, I have a rough idea of whats in the freezer but there's probably something in there that I have forgotten about. I think its good to do this every now and again to have a good clear out and then build it up again with fresh stuff, unless of course you are good at keeping on top of this anyway.

Yes - among the mysteries in ours were a tub of bread sauce from Christmas 2017, and a tub of something that smelled vaguely familiar but we still have no idea what it might have been! :rotfl: I think both had labels on them originally but as is the way of things, not any more!

Remember that the talking therapy is there to help, and shouldn't feel like it's adding "stuff to do" to your already pushed time.

Great plan to get that caravan trip planned too!

I'm terrible for putting things in the freezer without labels with the intention of using them up within a week or two and then forgetting its there.

I think its just because it was my first session, it was definitely a help but it did get me thinking a lot about myself. I think this is a good thing though as I do have my faults and there are a few areas that I think could really do with some reflection and improvement. I think just talking to someone where I don't feel like someone is judging me will be a huge help for me, I struggle being completely open with people so I'm hoping it will also help with that.

I am very excited about the little holiday, we won't be too far from Pembrokeshire so I will plan lots of lovely walks together and fit in some beach time.

Not entirely sure how my first exam went, there were some questions on there that I hadn't prepared for. I won't dwell on it, there's nothing that can be done about it until I receive my results now. Need to start preparing for the next one now, 1 down, 2 to go.

11 NSDs of the month so far and most likely another one today. Movie night with my small tonight, will make sure he gets 100% of my attention this evening. I'm still feeling guilty over not spending much real quality time with him but I am doing all of this for him. Our first holiday is only 8 weeks away so that will really help.

My debts will only be down by £115 this month because I used my card to pay for the caravan I booked, I do have the money to clear this but I'm going to leave it where it is for the moment until I can take some time to have a look at my finances properly. I also have £31.50 stashed to use as an overpayment. Will work it all out at the end of next week.

  • Good idea to leave in the short term until you get chance to look. I always over pay and then regret it as i end up in my overdraft. x

Oh, a caravan holiday sounds lovely! It'll be worth every penny to relax with the little one.

Hey well done love the focus and like you can’t wait till I get debt free!
  • Definitely no point in dwelling on the exam as there's nothing you can do about it now and it'll just affect your preparation for the next one. Good plan also to leave sorting out money stuff beyond the essential until you're able to give it full attention - no sense in giving yourself anything else to be thinking about if you don't have to!

Hope you've both enjoyed your movie night!

Thank you all for stopping by.

Nicnak yes this would always be me but I'm trying to approach things a little differently to change my mindset for good.

We had a lovely movie night although it seems like it was weeks ago! I have completely lost track of time. Another exam done this morning, I think I have done okay but we will see in a month or so when I get my results. One more to go and then I can focus a little more on my finances and my goals for the year.

I had lost track a little of finances and yearly goals but I think I've managed to balance it all out now. So, the year so far

    13/160 NSDs
4/52 weeks savings - Have managed to save £67 from my entertainment pot so far this month and still have £50 left in there.

Other pots still looking ok, except for the holiday pot which is currently on a minus but this will be covered by my tax refund when it comes through. I have £31 left in the grocery pot along with some stuff still left in the freezer. I think I will have to be quite tight here for the rest of the month.
